Mt Hamilton meet question. Need input:

Hello everyone,

I know I'm way early for this, but in regards to the annual Mt Hamilton meet. I was wondering that maybe it might be better if we did it in the late afternoon, and waited there until sunset. Its totally awesome up there on the summer nights. Totally still, and warm. Kind of soothing actually. Would it be better for us to do it in the morning (8:30ish), or later in the evening? Maybe we can arrange a BBQ at grant park (Which is the park in middle of the valley there) before we trek all the way up. ?? What do you guys think?

Also, the park admission is like $4 per car, so that's the only downfall. brucelee bbqing is an upside.

Discuss.

i say do it in the morning. because most of the people are not familiar with the road. and most want to go 'fast' don't want someone going off the cliff again. bbq is a great idea.

Remember, there is going to be a lot of people, and we are not driving fast.

We'll make it to the top before sunset, and maybe stay at the top during sunset.

Thumbs up

I vote on the afternoon. I don't want to have to get up early again and drive down to Milpitas. I would rather sleep in. Plus a BBQ sounds awesome. And getting photos of a sunset on top of Mt. Hamilton would be killer.

AFTERNOON>

The only problem I have with afternoon is, will there be other cars already at the observatory. Remember last time we almost ran out of spots to put cars. So if other people go up there to hang out or whatever, they will take spots away from us. But the problem I have with the morning is waking up for it.
