I'm with joltdudec, these people are nothing more than a strain on a productive society.
Anyone with a shred of self respect wouldn't dream of behaving the way these people are. They have shown nothing except for why they are under a perpetual magnifying glass by LEOs. They don't understand that though, logic isn't cool, acting like a fool is.
Vicious cycle. You reap what you sew. No sympathy here.

Wow. this thread has grown.
I came back from Oakland 1am tonight.
No, I wasn't there rioting. I was working 3pm to 1230am. I'm glad I got off late - so, I can miss all those mess on the street.
Looks like some of protesters turned stupid as usual. Why destroy a new Oakland police car? They have nothing to do with this particular case. And why protest with violence when the whole purpose that particular was to promote justice. People who wanted to destroy property should have just rode on the bart and defecated in the train sits instead.
Second, that was not really a riot. It's really a baby riot from my perspective. Well, compared to what I have seen back in Seoul. Seriously, riot doesn't solve @#$.

I think by taking the actions that they (the rioters) did, they only weakened their case. It's unfortunate that ignorance, stupidity, and lack of respect for the TRUE meaning of the protest were the order of the evening. If they wanted to get so violent, why not against the BART station? Why take it out on totally innocent people who have nothing to do with it? How many lives did they affect with THEIR actions? Do they care? No.

I'll right a full review with pics later. But I was up in the thick so I know what was REALLY going down. I finally left as things started to turn for the worse. However, all I can say is there are always a handful of people who show up to **** **** up, regardless of the 90% who showed up to protested peacefully.
The funny thing is I could pick out each and every "fake" person who was there just to start ****. And what happened, two blocks later I see those same people lighting **** on fire and vandalizing the cop car. There were several people trying to stop these dumbasses as well. The whole Idea is to come together as a community however there were and are people who are tired of "talk" and along with the people just wanting to start ****. These people got caught up in the mix of emotion and excitement.
I'll write more later and I need to get my damn cable for my Camera so I can post up pics.

Thing is... the real protesters and the rioters are different people. The real protesters did what they said they were going to do, and the rioters did something different.
So you can't say that this hurts their case, cause the rioters aren't the same as the protesters.

I'm pretty certain that if I were in their shoes, I'd say that one caused the other, therefore would lump them all in the same group. If it hadn't been for the mass "protest", there wouldn't have been the "troublemakers".

most people here know where I work.
