Went to Arizona over the weekend to visit my buddy. We had a little full auto fun with his highly tricked out AR. He has been a gunsmith for years, but the ATF recently approved him as a manufacturer.

And a little longer distance

I am very pleased with my M&P9. I liked the .40 but I went with 9 because ammo is even less than .40 so I can shoot it even more. You don't give up too much with personal defense ammo too. I definitely shoot my .45 a lot less due to cost until I start reloading.

yeah thats totally understandable, for one period of time i was going nuts with my mossberg 500 and then the price of ammo caught up to me =[, I wouldn't mind a 9mm but im going for a caliber i dont already have in the house.

LOL my buddy went to the Cow Palace show and picked up some ammo. He waited ~4hrs to buy a case of ammo. We shot approximately 500 that day and about 200 of that was in just a few minutes. That was an expensive but fun day, and our buddy reloads, so we just had to pick up all the casings and leave them for him. When it came to 9mm, I didn't want to have both .40 and 9 because they are so close in size. I don't think it would be an issue, but I also sort of just felt it was less hassle buying a lot more ammo of one type since I have another 9. Looking to pick up a M&P Shield when they are available.

I like those M&P shields it would be an awesome CCW if we could. That is true it is less of a hassle to buy multiple types of ammo. Thats why theres a .357 and a .38 special in my house same ammo lol. I guess i always just wanted a .40 or .45 thats why i am leaning more towards the .40.

As a matter of fact, most other states are "shall issue": if you apply, more or less as long as you clear the background check, you WILL be issued a permit. Ca. and just a few others are the only ones where that is not the case. It is not 100% impossible in the Bay Area, but justification and approval will definitely make it almost impossible. You probably have a better chance of getting hit by lightning AND winning the lottery on the same day unless it has something to do with what you do for a living.

Yup^
A friend that attends the local Sac meets has his CC, the main reason he got it was for the area he lived/worked in, and the type of work he does.
So not impossible, but deff not easy.
