what are the downsides of ethanol in the suby.

Rumors i've heard

1)mileage for regular driving is decreased noticably
2)it is bad to switch back to between gas/ethanol
3)it dirties the motor and decreases longevity?

is any of this true?

Burns much cleaner and has a much higher resistance to detonation.

I went from getting about 230 miles out of a full tank on 91 to getting about 180 or so from a full tank of E85. I do mostly stop and go commuting though. I have got over 200 out of a tank with longer highway trips.

E85 from propel in Oakland is still $3.25 a gallon, just filled up today.

Just filled up at the Propel pump on First St. in San Jose and it was alsI $3.25 a gallon. Week ago it was $3.05
Usually I'd get between 180-200 miles per tank. But as of lately my mileage has dropped. Doesn't help that I've been romping on it lol.
This last tank I got 160 miles.
When I tuned for E85 the loss of mileage was never a concern for
me bc I don't commute my car. Have a company truck that I drive daily.
