You betcha... Get the owner of wingstop to talk about what impact it has drawn on his store. Shove a camera in the mayors face, Interveiw us tax payers.. Then go on about getting stopped for no reason, Getting tickets for the state ref when the cops know there is none right now.

THATS NEWS!!!

1. Abuse of power
2. Economy damage
3. Profiling

I could go on...
How about you can be wrong?

The state is making some money, but this is really about the state... it's about santa clara county... they are the ones who are making money on all this, they are going to freaking make a killing on all these tickets.

Here's the other thing: If you car is indeed modified, then you are breaking the law, no news company is going to do a piece on that. Go ahead and call them yourself.

The story is about cops harrasing paying patrons, which hurts the local economy

And they are issuing state ref tickets when there is no way to clear them.

I am with you on if your car illegal.

I have to call that number and see wat can be done. If i put my stock blow off valve and put the stock up pipe and down pipe on my car and take it to the smog check .... will i pass it with my HKS exhaust on the car? Any help would be appreciated Thx guys.
Please dont quote me on this but I am trying to give the best advice possible. You may be able to save yourself some time and just replace the down pipe. I would leave the up pipe alone as most refs or inspection stations will not think to look at it. If they do worse case is you will have to go back. The up pipe is such a pain in the behind to do so you may as well try. As for the HKS Youre gonna need your factory exhaust too.

I am going to back what Joltdudeuc said and what everyone is not understanding is this is in Santa Clara County. As far as traffic laws go they are like being on another planet. Thier court system is lawful but unfair. I got my ticket for speeds in excess of 100 there. It would be a long story but needless to say i got totally hosed. The system there is designed to generate revenue and will always work in thier favor. The judges are pretty cool most of the time but they will be expecting all you "street racers" on your court dates and Maybe they will take pitty maybe not. I am sorry you all are in this mess but Santa Clara County sucks.....

I finally got my courtesy notice in the mail. Here's what it says:

Proof of correction: $10
To Pay Your Ticket (Bail Forfeiture) Amount due for bail forfeiture: $509.50
Request Court Appearance, Appearance is optional. Then it gives two options: Arraignment or Court Trial. Amount due for court appearance: $509.50

Which of the 3 do I pick if I need an extension?

As far as searches, ask politely what the exact probable cause is :

They didn't get ticketed on the parking lot, they got pulled over down the street on public roads.

Aragnment should not cost you anything, and allows you to ask for a fine reduction.

But you have to please guilty, not guilty or no contest (never plead no contest, you forfeit all rights). So, I dunno what you want to do.

27150?

Those are correctable, just go to court for an arraignment with the corrections signed off by any officer, the judge should take care of it.

Look what I found:

27150.2 (b)

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc27150_2.htm

Can't believe that it's still in there! This means that if you can find the testing procedures stated there, and show your exhaust complies and get that in writing from a CHP office, then you should be in good shape.
