When I was first looking into getting a bike I looked into insurance costs. It was obvious that every 3-4 years I'd be paying for a brand new bike if I was getting comprehensive. I ended up paying cash for the bike and just have liability (including medical for my passenger) at 100/300/100 for about $50/month with 1 point on my record. What really effected my pricing was the mileage I'd be doing. At 3000 miles a year my quote was $150 a year, for 6000, it was $800. My agent put me down for 5000 which gave me the $600/year even though I told her I do about 6k on average over the last 5 years.
