insurance question

For those of you who know about insurance, does it matter how much the estimated driving mileage on the car per year is? I estimated that I would drive 10k miles per year when I signed up with insurance but I've only driven about half of that. Would lowering my estimated travel reduce my insurance perimum? I know it probably won't be by much, but a little is something. Thanks for the help buds.

I think that is part of why my rates doubled last year, I estimated I'd drive it 12,000 miles when I signed up, but it was at 60,000 miles less than a year and a half after I bought it.

Darn you Vic, don't hijack my thread Hey were you parked on 19th avenue today, er....like between taraval and santiago somewhere? Saw a blue with spoiler, didn't know if it was you.

Yeah I have AAA too, if it's lower I'm adjusting it. Damn insurance agencies are raping us all anyways.

to insurance companies and to the people who requires us to have it and to those stupid drivers who raise our rates, and while I'm at it the world.

I still like you guys though

Yes, you can get your insurance lower when you don't drive your car over a certain number of miles. Different insurance companies have different mileage requirments, but they are usually around 7K or so. I did that on mine since my WRX is not my main everyday car. It saves a lot of money. On mine, I keep it under 7K miles/year and I save almost $400 a year! Nice to have. I've had my car for a year now and I just hit 5,000 miles on the odometer.
Would you happen to have AAA?

Yeah, we had a vehicle we quit driving much, and saved a lot by telling AAA that we would drive it less than 7k/yr.

On all our cars, they kept asking (about once a year) for the current mileage, but they didn't want it unless we knew the exact figure on an exact date, so they never got the figures.

$3300? I’m paying that much on a rex alone. I tell ya, area matters. I'm not surprised that your premium increased so much, living in the city sucks sometimes, and this is one of those times.
