03 55k and still going strong (original clutch)

I think you've just had terrible luck with your RS.

Just to name some:
-Terrible interior quality
-Things inside falling apart left and right
-2 sets of broken seatbelt buckles
-Alternator x 2
-Oil pump
-motor
-transmission x 2 (Stock hp)
-O2 sensors x 1000000
-Leaking weather stripping
-Interior panels falling off
-electrical problems
-headlight loom b0rk3d
-random bulbs burning out CONSTANTLY
-More squeaks then the rats in NYC
-2 master cylinders
-broken subaru stereo deck
-I think I have replaced over 10 wheel bearings over the past 5 years.

Just to name the ones off the top of my head... Not all of that happened within the last 7 months, but it seems I'm fixing something EVERY friggin week on that POS. I hope someone rear ends me and totals it once and for all. I can't sell it because it has so many damn problems, I wont get squat for it. It reminds me of that movie "Money pit".

I was hoping my 06 TR would be an improvement, however that isn't the case at all... It's def nicer then the RS, but that POS 5 speed just couldn't be any worse... Isn't falling apart as much as the RS, but it was starting to before I wrapped it around that tree... I hate to say it, unless I find a really spectacular deal on an STi, I really don't think I'll ever drive a Subaru ever again... I'm all set for an EVO, which I know isn't a drastic improvment over the Subaru in terms of quality, but the ones I have driven make up for it in terms of all out better performance then the subie... Sorry if that offends any of you, but I'm just in a bad *** mood right now after spending about 8 hours today working on fixing some random things on the subaru today... The thing that pisses me off is that they friggin want 28K for a new WRX now! Sorry Subaru, you guys need to put down the crack pipe.

/ Rant

*puts on flame suit*

I hope someone just t-bones it and totals it once and for all... I really hate that damn car now... Biggest pain in the *** ever. Can't wait to get an EVO so I can be done with the Subaru quality lacking nightmares I've experienced with the 2.5RS and the 06 TR... (Oh, also, on the RS I've gone through 2 trannys and the TR was about lose its transmission... glad that POS got totalled.)
What the hell do you do to your car?

none of my subarus have given me a single major problem

also if you think you are going to gain quality by going to mitsu....................you are in for a world of hurt.

I think it does come down to the driver... My Outback was a gem until I started going 100+ on the freeway and let the motor overheat... twice... and of course spinning into a tree... but I was still able to get it up to 144k miles, which is more than enough for me even if I only had the last 20...

With an experience like this, I don't blame him.

However, it doesn't sound like a typical experience so I wonder if it's bad luck / lemon, or something else is going on... like the engine bay was washed or something.

My RS was the same, on engine #2, first gear would not engage while moving, it squeaked and rattled like the space shuttle on re-entry, wheel bearing went out, alternator #2 was on its way out, no seal on the windows and the center console plastic wouldn't stay in place. There is a reason I didnt buy another one.

Size has nothing to do with it. The interior quality is light years ahead of my RS, it doesnt rattle under acceleration or turns, first gear will engage while the car is moving, I will never have to worry about maintenence with this car and I can actually drive down the highway with the window open and be able to listen to the radio all at the same time.

my wrx has been fine so far 62k only replaced 1 o2 sensor 1 wheel bearing and a few swaybar mounts due but all of those are due to modding with a aftermarket sway bar low offset wheels and bunch of power parts.

i think some one else hack his account and made that post lol

i mean Subaru has one of the best reliability, just pull out the consumer report in your local library. compare ANY Subaru model to a ANY Mitsubishi model. there is not one Mitsubishi model is more reliable or has a better review than Subaru.

In my experience incorrect. Dan and I had almost exactly the same car with almost exactly the same problems.
