Now, I didn't read what everybody else wrote. But if you do decide not to drive the car, just sell it. Car is not like a property, car will only depreciate. Good luck and hope things turn out to be okay for you.

sell the car. get a beater and recover from this mistake. if you keep the wrx and get minimum insurance, you will get in more trouble. even though you said you learned your lesson, getting minimum insurance is an easy way out and you truly will not learn the tough life lesson.

there are other things to consider, minimum insurance will cost you a fair amount since you are 20 and drive a wrx. and if you get in an accident, how will you pay for your repairs?

get a beater, take the money that is saved and do something with it. go to school, save it, invest. in a couple of years you will be way ahead vs. keeping the car. storing the car is stupidest thing you could do.

good luck. remember it's just a car, a beater or a wrx will get you from A to B.

I felt that way once too, but really life's too short to spend it with one car.

there will be other cars that will come your way, and you really should consider spending some time with one that doesn't like to get in trouble so much.

besides who knows if we'll even be able to get gasoline in 3 years?

Pete is absolutely right! I had an 01 RS, loved it, raced it, sold it. I then got an 02 RS, loved it, raced it, killed a deer with it, sold it. I now have a 98 protege, hate it, can't race with it, and most likely a deer could kill it, but it gets me from A to B. I am only 24, and I am on my third car already. And NO one helped me with any of them in any way. And just remember, car is not everything, there are other things in life. Again, good luck with your situation.

Steve
Well, if you get the judge to let you keep driving (isn't 4 pts supposed to be 6 months suspension) and you can afford the insurance- I don't know, but I'd expect the RS bumps up in insurance costs compared to a non-RS GC8 impreza or OBS.....

Its up to you man, we're just pointing out that non-performance cars are cheaper to insure, and any car that can't go fast enough to win a drag race probably isn't going to get drawn in into any-

That side of it is what you need to work on, but you seem to have pretty good self awareness, so go do what ever you can afford

What kind of car(s) do your parents drive? Maybe you could trade your wrx with theirs, and tweak the insurance around a bit by doing so, insurance for an old car might be cheaper than a brand new prius (not sure). That way, you get to keep you car too.

Agreed, ask your dad to help you out..since he lives in luxury i am sure he would be willing to help his son out..hopefully lol...hahaha take advantage of it ..but other then that be careful with the hitching rides with friends...i got in an accident about 2 years ago and had to find my way around for about a year and well lets just say you dont really want to strain your friendships by always hitching a ride from them, it gets old real quick...trust me i have been the one asking and the one giving the rides too....

hahaha i'd keep the wrx cuz sooner or later you will be able to afford the insurance and get your own policy, but thats totally up to you and your finances...good lucks mang
