vapor, I was going to suggest getting together. Over on shoreline, at the end of the road there is a huge parking lot. If you want to cruiise over there one of these days and go through some things, I'd be happy to help you out. I'm not saying I am gods gift to driving, but I will say I'm not a novice. I live in Mtn. View so meeting won't be a problem.

doing this makes no sense... downshift when you have to, but for normal decelerations just use the brakes

My feet are size 13, I do just fine. For me it's more like Heel/Middle Arch. It gets the job done. I like to put the brake pedal under the ball of my foot and stab with my heel. I can really feel the brakes. A narrow soft sole shoe helps as well.

Eh. Nothing really wrong if you are posting there too. If you can learn from both ends, then so be it.

That wasn't what I was getting at lol. There was this same post in the nasioc OT and the responses were so totally different that it shows you the difference between our two forums

Just convinced my roommate to get a DSM (he couldn't afford a Suby in good shape). It's a 5spd 92 Eclipse GS-T.... problem is, he's never driven a stick before. Teaching him was torture, but I think he's almost got it.

That Gary Sheehan video is pretty tyte. Amongst most people, I seem to be one of the few that incorporate double clutch in with heel toe.
