I'm starting to test some of the open source tuning/flashing software available and I've found that its really getting close to a good, proffesional level. I may offer tuning using this software in the near future to those who do not wish to buy an AP.

+1 for openECU and ECUflash. Evo tuners/owners love it! AFAIK, the same type of software is availible for subarus, but for whatever reason it isnt as widely used as it is for evos. Perhaps thats because cobb hasnt released their AP for the evo yet (its in the works), and DSM guys have been tuning the the 4g63 for over 15 years now

I agree... I think its mainly because EVo's don't have many other options aside from piggy backs and Ecutek. The software is really getting to a nice level now so I'm playing around with it more and more.
