Bwaaaa... Unless you have more track time than anyone on here, you flat do not know the limits of both an STi and an EVO IX.

im not going to respond to all of that that long *** post of speculation. Im not hating, im really not.

Ed and I have already discussed that there could be other factors. Since there is no launch, it most cases it should be a simple numbers game. That, and evos usually do better from a roll since they have larger turbos and dont choke as much up top. Methinks your car was obviously running better at the time. Hp/weight ratios dont lie, since you are saying you are both good drivers

I had my STi dyno'd, the evo is still stock, I'll be dynoing it stock at EIP soon, then getting speed element tuned. But since when does putting your car on a dyno give you any more knowledge or credibility?

I would think gearing and ratios should play a huge part in this, however power/weight and the driver's ability to eek out the most of the platform of choice are the best factors. This is why it makes sense to have two people familiar with both cars drive them both, and let math be your friend.

Sorry for calling BS, it was just hard for me to believe from the conditions you posted. I know you won, bottom line. However, torque doesnt really play as much of a role from a roll . Why do you think honduhs are highway kings, lol. If Im ever up there after I get my tune, I'll gladly go for a friendly run

Wombat..im speaking straight line speed. The STi is a beast down low with full boost below 3500rpm, but physics dont lie. It isnt always great up top pushing 18psi+ on pump and going into hair dryer mode in the upper RPM range. However, Ed did a great job on the tune, it holds power from 6-7k very well, unlike a lot of the graphs you see with a sharp taper starting at 6k.

edit: and either way, your car is obviously a strong one.

No more street racing references, either explicit or implied, please. This is Alex's policy for this message board. Thanks for your consideration.

Nice numbers, Sean. How much does it cost for a Pro-Tune? How much more for a Super Pro-Tune? What extras do you get with Super Pro-Tune over a regular Pro-Tune? Thanks in advance.

It does its job well as a daily driver. I only have Cobb AP Stage 1 and Perrin crank pulley. I am interested in Stage 2, but I think I will wait for spring. There's no point for me to pro-tune now at Stage 1, but I'd definitely do it when I go to Stage 2. Thanks.

The only reason that I have the ECUtek is that I am one of the original people that had a Uni-chip in 01 on my WRX and then moved over to the Ecutek when it first came out. So I am already in the whole a lot of money in the electronics department. If I moved to Cobb it would be on a different car.
And I live in Vacaville so Davis is someplace that is very close to get a tune done!!

Super
