The option would be drive the hell out of the tires to wear off the lubricant, and then continue to drive the tires as if they were strapped onto a wrx w/an enthusiast behind the wheel...

sheesh! do you break in you condoms too?

Haha good stuff.

It is smart to take some time to scrub the crap off the tires, but I would not worry about taking 500 miles...unless there is moisture on the ground.

FOr anyone else looking at these tires, I suggest going up a size as these seem a little small. My 245x40x17 are about the same size as the 235x40x17 Toyo R1R on 17x9 wheels, and DEFINATELY smaller than my 245x40x17 Star Specs on 17x9 (although we all know Star Specs run wide)

Don't go to those "mainstream" shops,J. That's how they operate.

They have the g-force M/S tires for the same price. Killer deal there as well. If I had the dough I'd buy them right now to replace my pzeros but I don't need tires right now and don't have the dough.

Never sales when I need tires. grrrrrrr.

Cry me a river.. I am looking at paying ~$320 for 4x 165/65-14's because it's a "rare size" while people got some pretty awesome larger rubber for less.. Since my car is a POS, I am seriously considering putting on some larger tires and modifying the fenders w/ a sawzall.

07 STi, and yes, but I was referring to the tires I had previously which were 235/45/17, and was saying that the new 245/45/17 made a hugh difference in performance (in a good way). The sidewall is BARELY taller, just 3/10 of an inch which is nothing and the are a lot wider then my old tires.

I got my tires the next day which is amazing, and have already broken them in and they are beyond what I expected. I wish I would have purchased two sets! This is def one of the best tires Ive ever had, the size could play a part though since these are the widest Ive ever had, Im used to 215/45/17 from my RS.

RS2's are better, I've had both. However I had 225/45/17 G forces, so the size could play a roll, but I doubt it, the hankooks are much better.

Just mounted my 225/40/18 RS-2's yesterday @ Wheel Works. Cost $99 for mounting and balancing. Now I need to go to AI and get the car aligned. Saved about 300 bucks from the original order, luckily I just caught this post in time to change it. Thanks Again!
