Hankook RS2's closeout on Tirerack
Don't worry they are at least better then the stock sti tire in the rain!
Their wet rating isn't as bad as some of the guys in this thread say, besides who in their right minds drives fast on public streets in the pouring rain? I'm sure they are fine during normal driving just not so great during wet track days but that's to be expected with extreme performance summer tires.

Just called my tire friend who is a manager at America's tire, he said that the XL just means that the tire has a higher weight load rating, which makes no difference in terms of performance on our cars what so ever. So I placed my order, and I get them mounted and everything for free.
Check out this price for:
245/45ZR17 Hankook Ventus R-S2
In Stock 4 tires $71.00 $284.00
Total cost for 4 tires, with shipping out the door:
$331.44
I don't even need tires right now cuz I got a new set like 3 weeks ago, but damn, for that price, I just couldn't pass that up!
Thanks original poster for the info!!!
PS: I don't autox anymore, and wanted something similar to the stock STi tires and these are rated better then them in almost every category.

theyre around the same price for the 17s i need. the sumitomos seem like theyre overall better and theyre regular price around 71 dollars each for 225/45/17
anyone have experience with those?
im running some crappy nexan n3000 right now so anything is better at the moment.

Yeah no big deal on the size it won't make a really big diff at all... I've had this size befor and no biggy plus the extra sidewalk is nice on the crappy *** bay area roads with their abundance of six inch deep potholes that bend wheels.
