theyre around the same price for the 17s i need. the sumitomos seem like theyre overall better and theyre regular price around 71 dollars each for 225/45/17

anyone have experience with those?
im running some crappy nexan n3000 right now so anything is better at the moment.
My friend had a set due to thei cheap price and hated that tire so much.

You pretty much get what you pay for with tires and the only reason the rs2"s are cheap is due to the closeout

To those of you guys suggesting that I get the 40 series instead (thanks for trying to help btw), I just talked to two tire experts, one from tirerack and one a manager from america's tire co.

They both said the same thing:

My current tires are 235-45-17, and if I went to a 245-40-17 the tire would be smaller in height then my current size, and if I went to 245-45-17 that the tire would only be bigger by 3/10 of an inch with is nothing.

245-40-17 = Smaller then my current 235-45-17

245-45-17 = 3/10ths of an inch taller than my current setup, which is not really noticable at all.

Holy crap! My tires just showed up! Literally as I was publishing that last response!

I ordered them late night two nights ago, which means the order was processed yesterday, and are here today? AWESOME!

That's a 1 day turn around, basically overnighting it! Tirerack doesn't f around!

(I used UPS ground too!)

had these and thought they were a pretty decent tire...things I noticed were:

pretty high noise and vibration - when swapped over to to dz101s the road noise on the highway went way down and I felt a lot less bumps on the road

marginal in the rain - just had to keep this in mind when the roads were wet, though it made flipping u-turns a lot more fun on wet empty roads

^^^^^

You felt the bumps due to the stiff sidewall, which is something I want!

Their warehouse is in Nevada, which isn't that far from here when it comes to shipping. If you were to Fedex 3 day air it, it would arrive the same time, but the courier's not going to take it out till it's due cause it's heavy Hence the cheaper price on Fedex 3 day air shipping vs UPS ground on TireRack's website.

Isn't your car an MY06 STI? If yes, your stock was 225/45-17, no?

I actually got a phone call from Tire Rack the morning after I ordered them saying, you are aware that 235/40 is bigger than the stock setting right????
