Good info.

boreal isnt the closest coming from the south bay...Sierra is just as close...but if your a park guy then Boreal is worth the cheap price.

Tho Sierra is only $59 if youre under 23 which is good bang for your buck.

plus going to any north lake resort ads another 40 miles or so just because you have to head north more

FWIW, you can but tickets at REI for $66 for Squaw! One hell of a deal compared to $84 at the resort. I think they have deals for other resorts too.

Well, it's actually $68, but still one hell of a deal for Squaw! Here's the skinny for those interested...

The really nice thing about the Squaw passes (not sure about the others) is that you get the ticket at REI and just walk straight onto the lift.

They call it boring hill for a reason. Go to Northstar...or maybe Homewood midweek for some killer views of the lake...

I wouldnt recommend kirkwood for a first timer. There are too few green runs, boreal would be a fine place to learn, lots of other noobs to laugh at along with youself.

I beg to differ. I learned the little that I know at Kirkwood. The Timber Creek area was voted one of the best beginners areas a few years back.

I knew there was a reason I didn't offer advice right away.

Seriously though, sorry to hear that things didn't turn out better for y'all.
