Boreal / Tahoe this Friday
Anybody go up this weekend? What were conditions like?
I'm hoping to go for a day tip this Friday (the 7th), and $10 seems to be an unbeatable deal. If anyones interested drop me a line, my skill levels in between beginner and intermediate. Last season was my first real season snowboarding, went up 5 or 6 times.
I can link turns and make it down the black diomands without eating it now or snowplowing the whole way ... just very very slowly. If your doing park all the time, or backcountry I'm not able to do that stuff yet, and would probobly be holding you up.

who's driving? we should set up a few friday trips to boreal to take advantage of their $10 deal. the resort sucks, but for beginners or park riders, it's worth a trip or two.

Um, boreal sucks
I find it hard to beleive that anyone would even pay ten bucks to ride that place. Take a little drive to squaw, put the sticks on a back pack, hike up shirley around the back, and hit the backcountry.

I'm hoping to go up this weekend with my brother and friends. I Think hitting Boreal is a great way to get warmed up and ready for the season. Hopefully this season is beter than the last season. Does anyone ride at Sierra or Northstar?

I am waiting for Mt. Rose to open. I like it there.
However this will be my first year trying snowboarding. All other years I have been on long skis or micro skis....those are fun and can shred it up in the terrain parks.

I am going up to Boreal Sunday. Only place that's open right now, it is better than nothing and it temporately solve the craving for snowboarding. Hopefully Alpine will open soon, last year they opened early too.

I would have loved to carry out my snowboarding plans for this week, but the snow is gonna be dumping hard this weekend and just clears up for a blue day on Tuesday. If I only had a snowboard rack for my suby, it woud have been all good.... but no ...

For freeride, Boreal is not very good. But this season, I am getting into the freestyle stuff, therefore Boreal is the place to try to learn some basic stuff. Gotta master riding switch this season.
