Going to Boreal tomorrow

I have heard that it is a pretty ****ty resort. The only reason were going is because it is the closest to us and because we are only doing a 1 day thing. I was just wondering if you guys would HIGHLY recommend something else or if it wont be that bad.

So yea, any thoughts?

I just came back from there on the 30th. It wasn't that bad, but then again it was my first time snowboarding. If you get there around 10am, there isn't that much people, but when it's about 12-1pm, it starts getting packed. The beginner lifts are pretty packed as well with a long line.

Tip: Bring food. I bought a large soda, chicken strips, and fries for about 11 bucks total. Definitely not worth it.

Do yourself a favor and drive the the few extra minutes to Sugar Bowl. It's a bigger mountain that sits slightly higher. The snow is better as is the terrain.

If you are willing to drive another half hour Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Northstar all become options. Squaw is my favorite but both Squaw and Northstar are $80+ for a day pass. Alpine is something around $60.

Yea we went to Northstar last year. Right now we are kinda looking for the cheapest resort to go to because we are all pretty broke

eff what you heard..i Love this place!! I been goin here for several years now...You really get your bang for your buck here. If you do the night ride, its only 27 bucks. Its a great beginner resort, as well as intermediate riders. Its obviously not the biggest mountain but its fun and not as crowded at other resorts! Also if you do the iride, your third visit is free(lift Tix)

Anything but...

Boreal's runs are really short. If you're a first time snowboarder/skier it might be cool. Otherwise, drive the extra miles and go someplace fun.

Come on you guys. Boreal isn tthat bad. If you know how to connect one run to the next you can get some decent rides. It isnt intense like squaw but i wouldnt say its a ****ty resort.
I favorite it a bit cuz it was my first place but it is a lot of fun. plus its cheap. yeah the other ones are a few extra minutes but they are also $40-$50 more.

Definitely worth the extra five minutes to go to Sugarbowl...or even Donner Ski Ranch for that matter.
