seriously, final round for all the marbles kicks off in a bit! it's not gonna be any easier than the other rounds, but that's how it should be! it took a while for our guys to get things into high gear, but i think they finally are HITTIN VTECH, YO!! lol

for real, big test ahead against Superman+his Magic friends. let's see if we can squash all their hocus pocus w/some HARD defense+effort & Lake Show experience+composure throughout the ENTIRE series!! If we keep focused & getting down+dirty in the trenches, I feel good about our chances!

great game so far! magic were shooting well early, but we seemed to make an adjustment on D and are doing a better job not giving up open looks. the guys are really doing a good job w/their help D and crashing the boards w/MULTIPLE bodies! that's the kinda effort we're gonna needin the paint to help contain Dwight. we can't expect to shut him down completely, but as long as he doesn't go bonkers w/like 30+20 every game, we should be aiite. Drew+Pau+Lamar gotta keep battling down low but be a lil smarter about picking up fouls, esp Drew. we can't have both Pau+Drew in foul trouble.....need at least one of them on the floor at all times! Jameer really gave the Magic a spark, so D-Fish+Farmar+Shannon have to do a better job of keeping him in check, esp from penetrating. he had several dimes for spot up J's+lay-ups. we can't let him get their scorers going, esp Shard & Hedo!

i like our overall game so far. KB is taking a few more shots, but i understand he wants to be aggressive coming outa the gate and lead the guys more by example. we still need all our guys to contribute if we're gonna win this game+series tho. almost all of our starters have taken good shots and hit most of them.....only Trevor has had a slow star offensively, but KB has overlooked him on the arc to get himself+the other guys better shots down low. Ariza's gonna get some looks eventually, so he just has to keep up his effort on D and stay ready to hit his spot up J's+slash to the cup when the opportunities come.

whata game! Not like there's even any REAL doubt anymore, but it was Kobe Doin WORK!! tonight and, once again, proved he's still the BEST player in the L!! 40 pts + 8 rebounds + 8 assists on just under 50% shooting from the field & perfect from the FT line...awesome! just AWESOME!!

as stellar as KB was tho, the overall effort EVERYONE gave tonight is the most impressive thing from this game! our guys really came ready to play from the jump, and it showed! Pau+Drew+Lamar+Luke were freakin BEASTS in the paint and out in no man's land! they locked down on D+crashed the boards, and didn't let Superman go buckwild! holding Dwight to just ONE field goal the ENTIRE game......PRICELESS!!

Come on seriously.... held superman to one bucket yes... but thats because Orlando shot like what 8% from the field? Come on man... if Orlando made ANY of there jump shots or threes it would have been a different story.

IM NOT TRYING TO HATE ! Seriously... big ups to L.A for winning game one.. but if Orlando had showed up AT ALL, it would have been a different story. Remember, they make a few threes.... you cant double down on Superman like they were. L.A was basically GIVING them jump shots / threes and doubling down in the key. Get Turk or skip to my lou making any shots and we have a different game.

Edit: and dont tell me it was the stellar L.A defense cause we all know it wasnt... WIDE open jump shots and lay ups being missed !

 

IF the Magic woulda hit shots, it woulda been a different game.
IF Dwight woulda had more than 1 bucket & 6 shots, it woulda been a different game.
IF the Lake Show had not played such GREAT d, it woulda been easier for the Magic to get & hit quality shots.
IF the Lakers woulda had more than just 3 guys in double-figures, it woulda been a different game.
IF PJ woulda let KB keep it in Mamba mode, it woulda been a really different game.

in all seriousness, Magic missed shots and won't brick it up every game. but they also will not shoot lights out in very many games. NBA games are not consistently won by jump shots, esp during the playoffs. you gotta play inside-outside not from outside or you'll get stuck outside and end up w/a cold! lol
no more jokes......Lakers won game 1, & it's just 1 game. the series has just started, and there's a long way to go, so we'll just keep it humble, moving, and continue grinding. but everyone, INCL the Magic, knows....A-game to A-game, they will be in SERIOUS trouble!
