Those batteries are SOOOO much worse for the environment. Can't do **** with them. Waste. And hybrids don't even get that great of gas mileage. Buy a diesel or natural gas car. Even electric if you commute is localized.

or fight the f'in oil companies.
dude, thats the american way, bandaide fix....figure out a solution for the problem coming 10 years from now in 15 years from now

I get 45-48 mpg with the 1st gen Prius's we have at work. That seems pretty good to me!

for how "great" the technology is, it should be getting more than 10 MPG over a non hybrid civic. Porsche's is making a hybrid (maybe its out) of their SUV and it has 3 different modes, one being "sailing" mode where the electric motor works up to 70mph. The problem is who goes 70 in an SUV?

Considering there's people out there getting almost 50 mpg out of a Yaris, that's not that great. On average, conservative drivers get almost 40 mpg in a Yaris, so I'd have to say, getting 45-48 isn't all that impressive for a hybrid. Plus, I'm assuming that mpg is all city since usually hybrid mpg plummets for highway.

Yeah it's funny how people see hybrids as some sort of perpetual motion machine... A Prius weighs around 3000lbs!!! Put 4 people in there and you have nearly 2 tons. Once the hybrid drive shuts down (like, on the freeway) then essentially you are left with a 1.5L 4cyl wringing it's guts out to keep up.

Also, even at $4 a gallon, the savings of the Yaris over the Prius will buy around 100k miles worth of gas for the Yaris...

Hey dude, sorry about your job loss but I wouldnt blame the weather. Yeah, last season (06/07) sucked but this year snow fall was pretty good.

The reason for poor sales is because the economy is sucking, people just dont have the money for expensive snow gear/vacations...instead people are more concerned with paying their mortgage and filling up up their tanks with ~ $4 per gallon gas.

We are going through stagflation (sluggish economy and inflation at the same time).

Just plan ahead and refuse to bu at high price stores. I did that last night and pissed the owner off. He thought it was no big deal since I was on a bike. I'm not paying almost $4 a gallon on anything,

I really think is impeachment time for two people. Or Gov needs to be terminated for killing our state, Making it worse then the guy before him. And the pres for sliding us into a resession.

I really think if we all got togther we could all change the system. But they all count on the fact we cant get our **** togther.

All the small politicians are worse than the big ones.

Out government doesn't use the money we give them well, thats the issue. The gov doesn't ****ing use that money, the state as a whole, the counties and the cities use that money, and to be honest they MISUSE that money.

All these ****ing parents are pissed off that the education system is going to have heavy cuts, but why shouldn't we cut money to the education system!?!? Most schools and school districts have done poor on state exams, so why SHOULD we give them ****ing money? How about we give money to the schools who ONLY do well, give schools and kids a reason to try hard and do well.

There are lots of bright smart kids out there in ****ty schools who do well. They simply ignore the ****ty kids around them, focus on their goals and get this done. Parents love to blame other people, when they should be reevaluating their efforts to raising their kids.

If you raise your kids well, they will do well in life no matter how poor a school is. that's my take on this.

If you want to blame anyone for a recession it would be much better placed on 1) Al Greenspan for encouraging banks to sell horrible ARM products for the past 5 years and 2) the idiot borrowers and banks for taking on such high risks that come with these loans.

The president and the governor have very little control over the poor state of the banking industry, housing market and the weak dollar. This all stems from greed and bad foresight/lending standards. I wont go into the war issue...thats a WHOLE other topic.

Greenspan might have set that up and not have seen it coming, he's a smart dude.

I think it's really the borrowers and banks like you said... why cant people just be held RESPONSIBLE for their actions. Why must we ****ing bail them out?
