No its not. Due to new stricter California regulations diesel now has to be hydrotreated even more for sulfur content regulations. This is a fairly recent change, a matter of a few years. (I work at ConocoPhillips)

and increased production of ethanol will cause the price of corn and other agricultural goods to go up since they're using corn and land that would otherwise be used in different ways for energy production.
e85 is bull****, straight up in terms of everything accept high-performance cars. They will benefit from the octane and not give 2 ****s about **** poor mileage, but everyone else is just shooting themselves in the foot
We need turbo-deisel hybrids with much smaller batteries and such. 100mpg+ FTW

I hope that you aren't right. The gov't subsidizes the agriculture by buying things such as corn and burning it so that the market isn't flooded with product and prices are driven down to where farmers go out of business. If they are able to use this wasted corn to make fuel, more power to 'em.
