part of me thinks "F her! she didn't even make an attempt. It's either lazyness or I smell fish" she must be a spoiled brat or a rich person with a lot of money or she was just waiting for an excuse to upgrade. I see NO reason why I wouldn't call my own lost cellphone. if she doesn't care why would he have to care?
so when you got it it was already locked? you couldn't make calls from it?

Sorry, a phone should be called to or at least attempted to receive a call within a week. The person decided to cancel it and get a new phone within that week. If THE OWNER DOES NOT TAKE 1 measure to simply CALL the phone, then that is the owners fault in this case. I'm not speaking anymore, buncha retards on the board can't seem to understand logical thinking.
I'm sure if any of you guys lost your phone, you'd attempt to call it more then a handful of times, the fact that this one didn't ring once since would be negligence in my opinion.
You can only do so much for stupid people. That goes for plenty on this board who wear the badges of honor.

I do it because I always envision the owner to be a hot chick that will fall in love with me for being her hero and I can invite her to dinner. AHAHAHAHA
I didn't read all of the thread, but to me the first step was mishandled. If I found a phone (even an iphone) in a store. I'd go to the store and give it an employee. At that point, it's out of my hands and up to the owner of the phone and store.
By hanging onto the phone, your gf and maybe you had two thoughts:
1) I am going to be responsible and if the person calls I will return it. Either be a good samaritan or want some sort of reward.
2) If the owner does not call, now I have an iPhone. Which depending on how you look at this the finders keeper rule or you were really hoping that they would not call.
To me, by keeping the phone you wanted to more involved than what you have said in some of the posts.

i say we leave this OPEN and even STICKY IT so everyone sees what a douche wimprezax06 is
btw wimprezax06 i changed my location just for you buddy
With a personal rating of 17 and on the boards for 4 years I don't think he's much of a douche at all. As a matter of fact I would probably have done the same thing. I would take it into my hands because most people shop at multiple stores and won't go back to that one particular store to look for their phone (or multiple stores) especially after a big day of shopping.
The phone was on, why else would it die in 7 days without charging?
What you assume is incorrect and illogical. When he finally did figure out the phone, the sim was deactivated.
#1 Owner didn't register the thing, so preventative measures didn't occur.
#2 The owner didn't bother to call the phone once, not sure WHAT DUMB owner would not do this.
Just a lot of owner douchebaggery here. He made enough effort to call the store and wait a week. If you lose it, and it's important to you, I'm sure you'd call it. But if you trash your iphone, and don't think too much of it to call it once I think that's owner negligence and then it goes to finders keepers douchers losers.

i wish my i-phones battery lasted 7 days with out a charge! haha i still think the "fishy" person here is wimprezax06
the "im not going to go to a att store" tells me he wants to KEEP IT! cause that would SURELY put the phone back in the owners hands
ALSO if he found it in the MALL! he could have simply walked into the att store there! dont tell me he was at a mall without a att store in it

you people are really doing way too much.
try it, charge your iphone and leave it idle like that, the battery is there. because i can not do anything to the phone at ALL. it has the 4 digi code that is why i can't even call the person or even look the contact list.
the owner deactivate the sim card soon after, which means she gave up on the phone. she could just simply called or something. i assume she might just realized she lost it, and call ATT to deactivate the sim or something right away, because she needed the phone and did not want to wait. i don't know, don't ask me. i already told you people everything that i know.
IMO first of all, like one of you guys said, you would check your pocket every 15 mins. i do that too. but is a girl's phone, IPHONE is way too big for girls' jean pocket. so i would think she either hold it with her hand, or in the bag. but im guessing she was just holding it with her hands like ALOT of other girls. then while she was shopping she just got too carried away and did not even remember where she left her phone at. because i would think the girl been to many stores not JUST that one. if she don't even remember when and where the last time she saw her phone, then there is pretty much no way she can remember. i don't know when did she realize she lost her phone, maybe she got home or something. but like i said. the phone is on, if someone calls i would picked it up.
and i would meet up with her if she contact me of course?!?!?! but no one contacted me okay??? in that case, im not going to ATT store to do all those stuff that is not my responsibility. i did my part by waiting for her call until the phone is running out of the battery after many days. that is when i ask you guys what can i do with this phone. is locked, and i have no idea what to do with it. if i decided to use it or sell it, i would BEEN done it. why would i wait so many days??? come on guys, be real. don't try to make your self sound like an angel on the internet please.

and to last 7 days with out charging, that is nothing hard to believe. i can leave my nokia for 2 weeks if just on stand by and not use it. and it was last Saturday, and the phone is very close to dying on friday night. i posted it on sat is when i was trying to figure out how to unlock it. but it doesn't even matter, just stop trying make your self sound smart.
again and again, over and over, if she cared so much for her phone, and wanted back she would just called. i should not have to look for her instead. get it??? yes yes??
and very funny about your location. i don't have to change my location at all. why should i??? come to my house and get the iphone and return it to the store??? what a nice guy

Applying hypothetical scenarios to the actions of the phones true owner does not excuse your actions.
