why do you guys want to buy a "track" that would tear up everyone's tires within a couple of runs? i have no interest in racing if it means sacrificing my tires everytime i go out there...

Like I said, it will chew out your tires big time... Hell on one event we had 2 re-runs and 1 actual run and went home and did not finish the rest of the runs as we have no more tires.

The facility is great top end testing area but in no way good for turns etc. LOL..walking the track shaves the rubber shoes you are wearing so you go figure what it will do to your tires...lol...

THE CONCRETE IS SHARP !

But still a good place to go topspeed !!!!!!!!

Yep, I can attest to that.....back in 1991-1992 a few friends of mine were auto-xing out "there" in a Civic Si and a Caterham 7 and they went through tires instantly. My friend's Civic would sound like a 4X4 truck on the trip home because his tires were so burned up.

But it was a FAST course. If you have the dough to drop on tires, it would be a blast.

if you guys go out there, take a pic (close up) of the pavement. It isn't what you guys are expecting...it sucks!!!

if it's like most commercial airports it's prolly grooved so it lessens the chance of hydroplaning on touchdown in the rain.

This all reminds me of when our old air-cooled VW club used to set up a circuit (we called it our Sebring course) out in the country of northern Livermore. Mostly we'd time each other through the course (part of it was the strip we'd embarass the V8 crowd at), but sometimes we'd run wheel to wheel. Usually Friday or Saturday nights.....or we'd set up a hill climb up Morgan Territory.

Imagine a bunch of 21-25 yr olds in 150-200hp VWs screaming around at 2:00am through the farmland. Had the cops catch us once after a bout of VW wasting a Mustang repeatedly. Luckily I didn't get caught. Only Mr Mustang.

If you guys set up lookouts, you could use the same area.

I jsut thought of this....what is the condition of the DIRT besides the runways????

Now all of us REALLY want to tear up our tires, but what about mowind the grass (or had everyone drive over it aobut 100 times) and getting on some rally-x or even just some cool dirt powersliding

Im up for it depending on WHEN it is (school sucks)

I dunno how...especially if its just weeds or low grass in those center sections.

Now if it were green grass or something I could understand.

for shizzle,

whatever it is I think it should be more of a meet then an a race, to an extent, if we were to have any type of racing we should make sure it is organized and no lost idiots find thier way onto a track while it is happening.
