A crush washer? I'm assuming thats the washer on the drain plug. Are you guys saying your supposed to replace that?

You should replace it everytime you remove the oil drain plug. Some people have reused it, but would you really risk a spun bearing over something that costs a dollar?

Yea, the washer gets crushed... after once or twice it'll be flat, and you want that little give so there are no leaks and safetey so you don't turn the plug into a permanent drain hole. Then you'd need a new unit to hold the oil =P. Talk about a major setback.

Although reusing the washer can make it leak, drain plug Is not going to back out and the oil leak would be a pour or anything.

I've reused the washer once, but never twice. Nice trick International B showed me was that you can apply some heat to the used washer to make it expand, like a quick touch under blow torch, then use pliers to put on plug, and install.

ya...im a big guy, i can fit under the car without jackstand or ramp...dont forget the crusher washer and correct Torque for the drain bolt.!
I get more than one set when they do that. Last time they did special, I got three sets. Last me more than one year. Good deal.

True, probably not enough to cause significant damage in a small period, but it doesn't hurt to be safe.

I'd try that trick if I had a blow torch.

got the oil change done no problem. im up at squaw now doin a little park riding today and tomorrow. thanks for the advice!!!!!
