The higher the elevation the lower the atmospheric which means that the skies are SUPER clear and you can see an amazing amount of detail on EVERY planet, galaxy, globular cluster. and various other things.

It'd really be a trip that you guys would never forget about. In the day time we have a BBQ, shoot off some rounds into the target area, and when it gets dark we have some brewski's, a bon fire, an epic BBQ of all sorts to meet everyone's taste.

How many of you would be down for a 3ish or so day trip up to Placerville area off Mosquito road? Guns, delicious BBQ, no lame rules that gun ranges have... Just bring everything you need and it's free to shoot. Its kind of a a shoooting/traiing trip with a huge potluck of some realu foods
How about Panoche or Tumey Hills, it is free to get in. There are areas for bbq'n now with a restroom near and good shooting spots within a 5 min drive from camp.

Also if this does happen I would love to make it out, so let me know.

I would be up for that, I could bring the 4runner, meaning I can haul MASS stuff and have full time 4wheeldrive locked and rocked if we want to get someplace deep (I can also winch out anyone who decids to go be dumb with their subie )

Hum...time to start to stock up on more ammo for a big trip.

BTW reminder to everyone buy all the ammo you can NOW, before 2/1/2011. On that date a law goes into affect that will force you to show ID and give a thumb print to buy ammo in the state of CA. (time to buy in reno)

CalGuns.net has an Annual Black Friday Shoot n Q @ Chabot if you guys want to head out to that. There is usually a bbq and different kinds of food to try out as well as desserts chips and salsa type stuff.

I think I am taking my bro and sis-inlaw to Tumey Hills on Sat after Turkey Day. That is if it is not raining

How about having a night shoot? If you guys have NVG's and IR lasers, it's A LOT of fun nailing steel targets in pitch black darkness. Definitely something you normally wouldn't get to do at any ranges around here.
