as for post 8. didn't see it. Then yes it would be perjury. Still, I'd take it to court. Thanks to california's full time highly paid law makers we have useless laws coming out of our asses. All of which you apparently obey ALL the time.

Zumnwrx & wingless, you make valid points but it is still BS imo. It sucks that people are unable to take responsibility for there actions and that there are lawyers to profit from this.
I totally agree that all was necessary was the cop to kick us out, and tell us to come back with a helmet. I would have gotten the point and NEVER came back!!!!! He would have done his job and still have my respect at the end of the day.
Thanks for reading

I agree. well played.
There are far far too many cops in this world that have power trips and treat people like ******. Some of this is because they have to deal with ****** all day every day and they just end up being one while on the job...the other is that they've always been like that and this is just a new platform to get it out.
Personally I think a big reason for this is that we've gone from a society where police where respected and they're purpose was to serve and protect to one where they're purpose is to make money for the city/state. Hence we have places like san francisco where what...17% of the homicides each year get solved.
Obviously the blame isn't all on the government and what not because that would just be foolish to think. Just my perspective on what's been going on in recent years. People have less and less respect for the law and more fear of it. Fear bread violence and ******* attitudes.
But there are a lot of good ones out there. Like the guy that popped me the other day. He still got his message across. Still gave me a ticket...not as bad as it could have been but in the end he did it all while being friendly and the whole situation was the better for it. Two adults talking with respect. I know a lot of good cops.

All my buddies are like "No dude, its cool nobody wears a helmet and the cops never come by." I decided to go since it was nice out, no rain and I hadnt been skating in ages.
I meet my friends, and the park is pretty cool. Its kinda crowded (20-25) skaters, and NOBODY is wearing a helmet. We all shred for about 35 minutes until we hear someone yell out the dreaded "5-0!!" (aka, cops are here). So everyone sits down and the cop strolls in on his high horse. He procceeds to mock us, saying stuff like "Why isnt anyone skating? Cmon guys whos going to take home a nice award?" (read:ticket), blah, blah, blah, being a complete asshat.
He zeros in on my buddy who recently broke his hand, he was wearing a cast. He then starts talking **** to him on how hes so smart to skate with a cast and without a helmet. Sure enough, my buddy gets cited for a $150 ticket. The entire time he is writing the ticket, he keeps up the **** talking in his condesending pig voice, smiling all the while, having a ball. He loved it. The bad part is, my friend is a server, and since he cant work with a broken hand, he is temporarily on disability. Talk about a bad luck streak
....OH YEAH, the motherf*cking pig said he used to skate!! What a tool. I hate d!ck cops with nothing better to do.

The cop should have given you all tickets for not wearing your helmets. The way I see it he only gave the guy he thought made the poorest decision of the day a ticket. He already has a broken arm, maybe next time he's gonna get a broken head.
Also, being an "adult" means you should be mature enough to know that the younger crowd looks up to you for examples. If they see you skating without a helmet saying crap like f the police...what are they going to do? Yeah, ok so maybe you're a good enough skater to not do something dumb like fall on your head, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't wear a helmet. I've seen professional skaters on TV, and they were all wearing their helmets. If you push yourself to the limit and try to learn new things there will be times you wipe out.
I'm a big MMA fan, so I'll tell you a quote I heard from Matt Hughes when he was talking to a fighter that just got his first professional loss: "If you're undefeated then you're not fighting the right people." If you're not ever falling down when you skate, then you're not trying the right moves.

Dude, did you even read the whole thread??? The cop was a straight *****! And I never said F*** the police when I was there, I have dealt with the law before, and I am always very respectful.
Granted you are entitled to own opinion (although its ALL BS imo). Thanks for the lecture Mr. Safety Police.

Oh BTW, JonP and Sonicsuby --
Do you guys have modded cars??? Do you abide every single law?? Do you agree with all laws made??
From you guys's posts, it sounds like you are A+ model citizens and/or think we should all be suppressed by the gov't and do whatever they say. Not me.
But...if I do get pw3d by the police, I will man up and take the consequences for my own actions.

thanks En3d, Ive definetly put in my fair share of slams though
This was last year when I fell on my knee at a skatepark and a simple seemingly harmless scrape turned into a gnarly septic infection/possible patela fracture. Good thing I didnt sue the city of martinez for breaking the law and being "stupid" :rotfl: --

The helmet could have really saved me there
RIP phil, you did shred!

Of course I don't obey all laws all the time. If I get stopped for breaking the law though and the ticket I get is legitimate, I can't really blame it on the cop can I? He's doing his job, and his job is to enforce the law, which I was breaking.
