The key is that you have to be legal. You can still be loud while being legal. That's how you would tie her hands.

My car is loud, but it is legal. If someone complains, I just lay on the gas and welcome them to the limitations of the law.

To go with what Huck said though... How does your GF's dad feel about your car? That would probably point you in a very good direction.

 

+1 on maddad whisper. slightly louder than stock while just cruisin but rips open on throttle. zero reason for cops to pull you over for all sorts of fixit ticket stuff.

Were you putzin around at late hours? I used to live in SF, where sound bounces off of the buildings and by the time it reaches my floor its multiplied by 100000000. I don't have problems with loud exhausts... but wow, there's this one douche at 3 am that would just rattle all the windows on his harley. sucks when he does this almost every other day and i haz work to goto

secondly, do people really get ticketed for this? dont officers just give out fixit tickets for things like this? (not the DP but the loud exhaust).

I don't know what it is about that exhaust but I swear it amplifies the exhaust note. Not even straight pipe seems as loud.
