I think you have nothing to lose by calling the cop. If you don't; bet your **** that your license plate number is getting logged somewhere and you will be pulled over.

Sounds to me like the cop knows that the neighbor is a PITA and is trying to throw you a lifeline before you get cited

Rule #1 of dating, you keep GF's Dad happy.

So, you swap your downpipe back to stock and call the officer, meet with him, have a polite chat. The officer is throwing you a lifeline. Use it.

there. you go. OR you can get a cutout. ORRR my personal favorite, park you car in front of her house and cold start it. If you are parked in designate space and you are below legal DB, fkcu it. do it. unless u have illegal mods. but i do feel your pain. the cops were called when i was driving my nitro RC on a saturday...at 1 PM....hope it all works out.

The cops obviously know this lady. Since he sort of gave you the benefit of the doubt AND an out, as Huck is saying, you should take that route. Because this is the sort of thing that cops really don't have time to "look into" these days, and they probably hate that lady for the constant semi-pointless calls.

To the op, sounds like your GF pops is a nice guy. I do agree with what other people have said, no obligation but if your GF pops took the time to write you a message, follow up on it.
