VW R32's sound nice with exhaust as well.

Here's my experience. I've used a gruppe-s UEL header, Perrin ELH, and Gruppe-S EL header(and of course the stock one). So far i've liked the Gruppe-S EL the best. I first used the Gruppe-S UEL header and gained a good bit of power from stock(exactly how much I don't know as I also changed turbo inlet pipe, intake, uppipe). A friend told me to try the Perrin ELH as it should spool the turbo faster due to it's smaller primary pipes(35mmi.d.) So I changed the header and went for a retune. I lost 16hp/25ft lbs of torque, and spool wasn't even improved. Back to the gruppe-s uel I went. Maybe temp had a part in it, as my gruppe-s uel tune was in late February and the Perrin in late August. Both were crucial racing coated btw. I then went with a dom3 and supporting mods with the gruppe-s uel header and spool was kinda slow for my liking(I use the car for autox) The gruppe-s el header i'm not sure how it would compare to the uel version, as I went to a rotated gt30 setup along with the el header as a few friends have them and love them, but spool is awesome and the exhaust note is fantastic.

Btw I never had any issues with the gruppe-s uel header, no cracking or anything, though Mike at GST would always ask if it cracked yet when i'd come in for a retune lol. I had that one for over 2 years with over 50 autox events on them with 2 drivers(6-12 runs each event)

to answer your question, I tuned & dyno'd my car before and after installing the Tomei ELH & Uppipe. On my setup, i went from 267/297 HP/TQ to 280HP@5250/320@3750 (Tune by Mike/GST).

What i've added for my current setup is:
  • Tomei ELH/Uppipe
  • Titek Catted DP
  • Cobb Exhaust, w/ 3" flange mod
  • GST tuned, at 19psi.

APS EL Header by far. The new one has some improvements that will try and get people to stop going for the Tomei EL over the APS EL. I've been using an APS EL header since they first came out, and never had even one issue with it, other than the issue of making tons more torque using it vs UEL design. I personally like the more subtle "growl" the exhaust note makes vs the UEL boxer rumble. I compare it more to the sound a Porsche 4cyl makes with it's EL header design. Nothing "Honda" about an exhaust note that growls like a Porsche.

P.S. btw the Full-Race piece is nice, yes, but if you've held the APS, and the Full-Race, and a Tomei, and other headers, you'll know the APS is by far the lightest, or possibly tied with the Perrin EL for lightest weight. The Full-Race wins the heaviest sob award.
