^ with all the parts that Andy is installing on his cars a set of headers is a great way to pick up 15-25whp. The rumble of the subaru does sound nice....But so does a nice built engine with a set of equal headers.

this it how the Tomie sounds:

Matt is right. I am looking strictly bolt ons at this point. I am still undecided if I will be keeping the WRX for the next year or 2

If I do decide to keep it, a 6 spd swap and internals are in line

I do agree with you about the boxer rumble though Daniel. I LOVE it, but if I had to choose between power and sound, I would have to go with more power.

Guys, one word of advice for all of you! DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO C89ZX7R!!!

C89ZX7R has posted some useful stuff during his time here, but he's dished out more crap talking then he's posted valuable material.

Did you know that he's not even from BAIC? He's from the east coast but just ****** out BAIC for some reason.

Just put him on your ignore list and ignore him, otherwise he'll drive you crazy cuz he doesn't stop, EVER!!!

The mods are already aware of this situation, so don't worry, we wont let it get out of hand.

C89ZX7R, can you please refrain from butting in where you don't belong? Stop knit picking and making something out of nothing... Why do you even post in BAIC when you're not anywhere near here and live on the east coast? I just don't understand why you come to BAIC just to start trouble with everyone.

Guys, he's the same guy that flamed the woman who joined this site because someone posted a thread about how a subie caused an accident and killed her mom. She just joined here because someone posted a thread about the situation and she wanted to give us info about what really happened. Someone (krinkov) suggested that a fund is set up for her.. She didn't have anything to do with it nor did she say anything about it, all that was said was that a fund should be set up for her, and it was mentioned by someone other then her.

So C89ZX7R comes in the thread and starts accusing her of trying to extort money from us and how her mom wasn't really killed, etc... Her mom WAS really killed in an accident (Civic Vs WRX, head on) due to a subie crossing the double yellow line, and he has the ***** to come into that thread and accuse her of lying and extorting money from us?! Not just a single post, but the entire thread was ruined because of him!

Not only did this girl lose her mom and almost lose her dad (who was driving), but she had to deal with some internet thug who was calling her a liar and of being an extortionist!

That's just a small taste of the crap he's pulled.

So he contributes with useful info sometimes, but he also flames people more often, I don't know what the deal is with him. :-/

I'd go for power too, but my point is that you can source power from so many locations on the car that you don't NEED to touch the headers yet... Our car responds to mods so easily and there are mods you can do to give the car more power very easily, headers being one of them, but there are many others that you could do first so that you could keep the rumble. The car sounds like crap with equal length headers, almost sounds unhealthy.

WOW! I have never heard a car with equal length headers that sounded like that! I think it's the built engine that's doing that and allowing it to make that sound. All of the STi's and WRXs I have heard sounded horrible and really unhealthy.

The car above sounds nice, but not anywhere near stock header, and the car above sounds a lot nicer then a stockish engine with ELH!

Man, I don't know what I would do if faced with this dilemma. 15 or so hp sounds really nice, but the boxer rumble makes me sooo hot and bothered that I dont know that I could give it up for 15hp... I love it THAT much.

I'd def start modding elsewhere and spend my money on other mods like turbo upgrade, turboback, etc... Then when I run out of bolt on mods, I'd finally do the header upgrade, only if I could get myself to do it.

Seriously, I don't think ANYTHING short of a V10-12 sounds anywhere close to how an STi with turbo back + highflow cat sounds... Its like a masterpiece! Nothing beats the sound of a subie as described above passing you (while you're standing outside) at WOT! Getting a high flow turbo helps too and adds that amazing turbo whine to the mix!

quoting all these because dbag seems to have issues where he need to return to a thread days later and edit all his pots to "..." so no one can see what he posted later on.......

So one would assume that you added the tomei after the car was tuned and you haven't been back for a new tune for the recently added parts.

From the reply saying you gained 30tq with the tomei's and other mods shows that your saying the tuner really sucks.

ok, a pnp manifold from grimmspeed will give 12 hp and 15 tq and a problem with perrin and borla headers are they have no flex joint in the crosspipe and that usually means cracking. What everyone is missing here is missing is improved spool-up and that to me is just as important as hp and tq numbers if you go equal length might as well go buy an evo!

My uel coated gruppe-s header survived "suprascooby's" bad accident and has been on my car for over 20K. Still hasn't cracked even after that bad accident that dented a section of the header.
does it have a flex joint in the crosspipe?

As silly as this may sound to some, I would never consider an equal length header on a WRX simply because of the sound. To me, the boxer rumble is a huge part of the Suby experience and not worth throwing away for even 30hp. My friend's car w/ the Gruppe-Sex header and Vishnu exhaust/uppie sounds positively wicked.

a catback, some brakes and coilovers to handle all that new power you'll be getting.
