no front plate, and had my car for 2 years. oakland/alameda havnt got pulled over yet. *knock on wood* got pulled over for exhaust but didnt get ticket for no front plate. also a moto cop stare right at my nose as i drove by him, he did not pull me over. (in alameda) so hope i won't get stop by it in the future

 

No front plate.. Palo Alto.. I haven't ran a front plate in 25 years..

 

Was pulled over once on 101 near San Carlos/Redwood City for no front plate with a fix it ticket. The cop also tried to claim that I had illegally tinted windows. I rolled them up and he said they were marginal so he'll only write me down for not having a front plate. Attached the plate, took it to the DMV and mailed in the $10. Ever since then, I've been running with a front plate so I don't have the hassle.

On a side note, I wonder if the 11-99 Foundation license plate frames would help at all... I saw a beater with one and knew that it had to have been stolen from someone else.

and this has worked twice, getting pulled over for something else like speeding, they give me a warning and a front plate ticket and are satisfied w/ not giving me a moving violation.. hehe... $30 fix it > moving violation anytime

 

friend of mine got a ticket for no front plate while it was parked in his driveway. wtff

 

didnt use my front plate while in the bay...still dont in vegas

 

Always do just to save the hassle.

I accidentally forgot to put it on after a car wash. I was driving and this cop was jamming by me then he slowed down look at my car then drove off. I got home and noticed it wasn't there. First time a cop has done that to me so I don't know if it was the plate or not but I make sure I put it back on.

 

I have been without a front license plate for 4 years. Never been hassled, not even once. San Jose area.

 

i got pulled over in the CCSF parking lot for my plate being angled w/ one of those japanese front plate mounting kits.

 

I am in Santa Rosa and travel from San Francisco to Healsberg on a regular basis and I've never been ticketed for no front plate. I also have a starbucks next door to my work and cops are there all day long with me parked next to them. I also just put on a euro shaped plate with personal lettering.

N E V E R run with a front plate, completely ruins the front of a car.

I've been hassled before, but never given a ticket.

 

I use front plates on both of my vehicles in S.F. It's not really a big aesthetic issue for me...

It looks better than my bumper with holes/white styrofoam in the middle... But that just might be me.

FYI one can usually smell a catless car from quite a distance and you cannot detect the fact that I have no front plate unless looking at the front of the car...
