i do not run with a front plate. i have been pulled over on I-80 tho for no front plate on my way to go snowboarding. near sac. i carry zip ties and my front plate in my trunk all the time so i go to the PD station with my ziptied LP and take it off. no biggie

 

haha same thing happened to me when i first bought my car. and then they tried to pull a i was driving with no lights. and i told him he was trippin.

you can add Millbrae cops to that list of being pulled over for anything.

 

word! I got pulled over a few weeks ago for no front plate. The cop was cool though. he mentioned my modified exhaust but didnt really care about it. He only gave me a fix it ticket for the front plate.

 

yeah I was gonna say millbrae but I knew someone was gonna say it. hahah

 

SFPD really is trying to crack down on any modded cars...a bunch of us got pulled over awhile ago... we got a buncha state refs...they took about 3 hours to get everything settled....we went into the weeeee hours of the morning. they called like 6 or 7 units just to look at our cars. they even called over some officer who was supposed to be some specialist in knowing cars...it was bull****. they thought a switch that made the turbos switch from sequential mode to parallel mode was NOS

 

That really sucks. I know how that is. If you use the search function above, BoxerRumble started a thread about the time we got harassed by cops at school in the parking lot.

 

what's odd is that some cars sold in kalif HAVE NO provisions for mounting a front plate.

a coworker just got a lexus i-250 (IIRC) and her front bumper has no holes or anything.

maybe the dealer is supposed to start poking holes in the bumper cover and there is something back there...

 

I ran without a front plate on my 02 tacoma. CHP pulled me over for it. They didn't even say anything about the cracked windshield. Oh and i was doing about 70-75 in a 70.

The subie has front plates. I kinda like how it looks. lol

 

ive gotten 2 no front lic plate fix it tickets, none recently though, my friend on the other hand got a ticket for no front plate, and it wasnt a fix it ticket..im guessing in certain citys they just cite you for it and the fines increase everytime youre cited for no front plate.. be careful

 

I haven't had a front plate since '04, and have never been hassled for it. Even at times when I did get pulled over (for speeding ) the missing plate and slightly illegal aux. light array on the front of my car have never been a concern to the cops in question.

i just realized that my friends scion hasnt ran front or rear plates in 2 years, and no tickets at all suprisingly. he does have the sticker on his windshield still tho

 

Ive driven for the last 8 years without a front plate none of my cars ever had one (1984 subaru wagon, 1990 Ford Probe, Buick Lesabre and 02 wrx).

Got fined 1 time in my old Buick Lesabre when I was driving in SF ($100) and got pulled over 1 time in my WRX but let go.
