Well the L weigh's 2585 with some fuel and no driver, the carbon parts we have are the trunk and the hood (the hood is the exact weight of the L Aluminum unit we removed, I am unsure of the trunk as I never weighed it). The car is having some work done which we anticipate putting the car around 2450 with fuel.
We have a new 07 STI widebody we have been working on that has carbon doors, roof, trunk and hood which has had extensive work done for weight (120+ hours of spot weld removal per Prodrive's shell prep recommendations) that we expect to be significantly lighter than the L.

Now, look at what Mike just posted about the GD they have been working on (for a while now). from the bottom up, that's how you do it when weight is a factor.
I'm simply not impressed if this dude in china was after weight reduction...
See the problem with building a track car like that is it has so much money in it he'll be afraid to destroy it. One of my friends encountered a similar problem building his '60s Mustang with top of the shelf EVERYTHING to make a track monster. He told me: "At the end of the day I just couldn't enjoy it to the max as a track car because I was afraid to crash it"
Of course if this guy is so rich he could build another car like this in a heartbeat, more power to him.

There is a ton of weight in that car that could be removed, I am also wondering what's behind all of the gauges I would have thought the AIM dash would have all of those channels and then some.
Nice looking car though I think it looks pretty clean.
On a side note, Gagan I bet if you had cash to burn you would have used a carbon kit for your GC

I can tell you my carbon trunk savedme from a broken back. Now I only have 3 bad discs. two in my neck and one in my back.
My trunk bowed in 19inches feet pulling the trunk floor and latch with it before it snaped the latch and sprung back. Hell its still on my car.

Both Doc and estimator were shocked at how it took a 55mph hit for a stand still and did as little damage to me. My drivers seat broke in two places.
Its more then just looks. It about doing what you can afford. GST just went wide on their L. Before hand it looks a bit 70's toyota...
Weight and crash protection.
But I'm not here to argue.. Just dont discount the car. Lots of hard work andmoney has gone into it. And he as well as I use ours for more then HIN.
