I should have made my post more clear. That is my car and was wondering if that was a good price. Yes i have all those mods, No i have never peeled out; dropped my clutch; or launched my car down a track or public street, it has never been abused in ANY way.

Just noticed this was back on CL. Sure the pictures look fine, but every wheel is curbed and the entire car is scraped, dented, spider-webbed, dulled paint, etc. Also the kid selling it isn't even 18 (doesn't have legal right to sell the car).

If you're looking for an RS chassis this might work...

I think I saw that a while back (during the summer). Same exact description, 4EAT, goldies, WRB, etc.

In fact, the previous listing said something was wrong with the A/C.

Thanks for the heads up.

Oh and did you actually meet the seller?

Yea, unfortunately I wasted 2 hours on a weekend driving to meet him.

Now I see the same car is back on CL, this time in a different location with a higher price. Maybe somebody bought it and thought they could get smart and resell it for more?

I called this guy this morning...

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/car/230321869.html

and while talking to him found out that he doesn't have the stock airbox so I asked if he had a way to smog it and he said he already did... in May...

So I informed him that he needed to provide the buyer with a smog certificate in order to sell and he got all argumentative with me... so I said "thank you for your time" and sent him an e-mail with a link to the site and a quote from the link explaining what I was trying to tell him earlier and that I was still interested in seeing his car.

Here's my e-mail:

Hey Caleb,

I am still interested in seeing your car. I was trying to give you information that will help you sell the car easier and for closer to your asking price. With the CAI on it it won't pass smog unless you have a friend in the business who will pass it for you. That's why I was asking about the stock intake and whether or not you had it, to make it easier to pass smog and thereby making it easier for you to sell.

Without a smog certificate the title cannot be changed. Unless it's sold to a dealer.

Here's the info I was trying to explain to you:

*Smog Certification*

If the vehicle is over four years old, it is the seller's responsibility to provide proof of a current smog certification <http://www.dmv.org/ca-california/smog-check.php> unless the vehicle registration was renewed with the California DMV within the past 90 days. Proof of smog certification is not required if the title to the vehicle is being transferred within a family.

and here's the link, scroll down to the bottom of the page:

http://www.dmv.org/ca-california/state-regulations.php

Since your selling it after the 90 days (May is the date you told me) you're required to provide the certificate.
However, I am possibly interested in purchasing your car despite it needing the certificate. If you can show it today and meet me partway I'd like to take a look at it.

I wasn't trying to start an argument with you, just trying to help. Hopefully I have.

Here is his response:

"I dont care what you think, I have the smog certificate somewhere, and I will get when I sell the car, besides I will call dmv and ask what I need to do. I cant meet half way. If you want to look at, you have to come down to SANTA CRUZ. SORRY.

Caleb"
