I think he payed too much for the car and is just trying to get out from under it. He needs to be up front about the previous damage on the car and, sadly for him, lower the price accordingly.

I remember someone posted pics of the underside of this car somewhere (in this thread?). I'm sure that with some work it could be a good first car or swap monster if he sells it cheap enough...
