from the story:

Many viewers have emailed Eyewitness News supporting the officer suggesting that what occurred before the confrontation was not shown on the tape.
how stupid can you be? worst case scenario is that the only thing not shown in the video is skateboarding. maybe even calling him dude. gasp! bfd, that still does not give a cop the right to tackle a 14yo kid. honestly, some skaters can be annoying when they are skating on walkways and disregarding pedestrians, but i am not going to push my weight around and tackle some kid half my size.

Well, let's make some assumptions and try to piece things together.

The kids weren't doing anything dangerous enough for the guy to use a weapon or call back-up. The weren't obviously doing anything to anyone else. In the video, the officer states what they were doing. Skateboarding in an area that does not allow skateboarding. So... what justifies the right for him to get in the kid's face and to throw the kid to the ground. The kid didn't run, the kid wasn't attacking anybody. The kid wasn't obstructing anyone else's freedoms. Not that I can see anyways. I don't see any justification for man handling the kid.

seeing the first part of the un-uploaded video is VERY VALUABLE! It would probably show the cop asking nicely.

But yeah still no reason for the actions from second 1

It may have. I might not have, but when it gets down to it, it does not justify the actions of the second.

They are public servants. Taxpayers have a right to know what they are doing when they are on the job. The kids had a video camera. If he isn't doing anything wrong, then he has nothing to worry about, right?

This video and the other video that was posted. I am not a cop, but I would be ashamed to be affiliated with these guys. I'd like to see that cop do some time for for choking that kid. Maybe brucelee and some of you other people can chime in, but last I heard, choking was not an arrest tactic.

mmmm, I've heard from a few people that once someone "resists" arrest, you take them into custody by whatever means necessary. As far as choking that kid though, I don't think he could've done anything nearly harmful enough to that cop who was twice his size.

Bottom line is yes, I have absolutely no problem with cops. Hell, I thank them all day long for doing they're job, no ****, I walk up to them and talk to them in line at Panda Express or when they come into my store. However, there are some that abuse their power. I bet this ****er had just been in an argument with his wife about not getting the punani or something. He should be discharged from the force. I think it goes back to what he was saying in the video, "HE disrespected himself, HE disrespected his badge, and HE disrespected his department."

I can't tell you the number of times cops hassled me for skateboarding.
Enforcing "No Skateboarding" zones should only occur after there's no other crime happening.
