Cobb vs Vishnu
Depends on what you are running. If you only plan to have so few mods (e.g. up pipe + TBE).
If you only plan to have say a up pipe + TBE, and have no plan to upgrade in the future (since maps are a bit sparse), then the Cobb is probably a better buy.
Now, if you plan to get a lot of mods: new turbo, up pipe, tbe, injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, etc, then you might be better off with a Vishnu tune.
Also, what do you have? A WRX or a STi?
If you have a WRX, you can run stage 2.5 from Cobb which is up pipe, tbe, vf34 turbo, injectors, fuel pump.
I hope that answered your question.

I have a 03 WRX w/ Cobb Stage 1, I recently ordered the Cobb up/down pipe and their sway bars. I don't think I'm going to go too crazy with mods in the future other than pink springs, strut braces, headers, exhaust, tmic and flash to a Stage 3 whenever Cobb releases it. But you never know the quest for absolute power corrupts absolutely...
I was mostly just wanting to know what you guys thought since you've been tuning suby's for awhile now. Thx

cobb's accessport allows you to change fuel maps. Something Vishnu does not have.
Granted you have custom maps with Vishnu and off the shelf from Cobb.
Accessport allows you to read CEL and clear it (like an OBD II).

What tuner was that? Did they happened to be in the Bay Area, and no longer are?

I have no idea who Vinshu is (looking at the title of this thread!)
That being said I would choose Vishnu over Cobb, for all the reasons mentioned above and few more
