You had to jump your car in order to bend the endlinks? I just drive that Forester through some twisties, and bent those. Mind you, we now have Poltec endlinks, so no more bending...

FXT and WRX are totally different animals so your experience is kinda null and void. Also what i really don't understand is why you didn't make a pull with just the TBE. That would determine if you car is messed up or not. You should have seen some gain from just the exhaust. I also cannot understand why your power sucks. It's really too bad. Also if you had read my post instead of looking for my accidental placing of the letter "A", you may be able to figure out that i have no dyno charts. All i said was that my WRX has a lot more power that it did stock.
I believe that the run with more hp is a dyno run with just a tbe and stock ecu and the other is a dyno run with cobb ecu and a tbe. Correct me if i am wrong Roo? I was there for the dyno and we were alll suprised to see Roo's car make less hp with cobbs ecu versus his stock ecu. As a side note i noticed that a majority off the Cobbs dyno charts that i have seen have been on the lean side. For Cobbs defense it is hard to make one single map that with run thousands of different cars perfectly without fine tuning. I still vote Vishnu!!!

The run with the most hp (172.x) was made with the Cobb stock map for FXT AT, which incidentally, is taken from THIS ECU. This ECU was sent to Cobb before it was reflashed in order to get the information and specs so that Cobb could fix some issues that were discovered with the 4EAT ECU. They downloaded all of the stock information from OUR ECU, so when we flash to stock mode, we get our own map back. As posted above, the top run was done with the stock ECU programming, and the TBE system.

As far as my experience being null and void (wrx10404), in order for that statement to hold true, then you have to nullify ALL of the STi AccessPORTs as well. What I mean by this is that the STi and Forester engines are the SAME, just different size turbo, intercooler, and different programming on the same TYPE of ECU. How do I know this, you ask? I have at least two Forester owners on the board I administrate who are running with the STi ECU, and a few more that are ordering the STi ECU to run with their FORESTERS. They plug and play.
BTW, this isn't from Vishnu, but here's what can be done with a 4EAT Forester for comparison (with ECUTek)

Gee, with the ECUTek tuning, I see a MAJOR difference in the A/F ratio!!

^^^^^ So what is the problem with the Forester ECU? Why is it so different? Does anyone have an answer? If The STi and FXT are so similar why the difference in ecu? Does the TCU have anything to do with this. This is a two part question. Does the FXT come in manual and have the MT guys had the same troubles as you?

The problems have been almost exclusively with the 4EAT FXT. From upload problems (Accessport initialization would freeze up and result in dead car) to extremely high idle to rough and abrupt shifts, there have been nothing but problems with the auto FXT Accessport. Cobb re-wrote the code for the 4EAT version using my FXT's ECU as a baseline (as Roo mentioned above) and fixed all of the above issues, but where's the increase in performance? The latest problem was that the maps that came pre-loaded on the Accessport couldn't be properly erased, so whenever we tried to update the maps or change the sequence in which they were loaded, we would end up flashing the wrong map. It would say "stage 2 AT" on the display and we would end up with, say, anti-theft mode B... Hopefully that's fixed now with the latest batch of updated maps.

Sooo... I'm tired of this and I didn't spend $650 to deal with all these problems and then still end up with a net loss in whp. I have to give Cobb credit for being helpful and quick to respond to the problems, but in the end it doesn't matter if I'm not getting what I was promised. Now they're already trying to cover their asses by saying that my ECU might be one of the very few ones unresponsive to tuning. That really raised a big red BS flag for me. So there, my money is on Vishnu now.

LOL, I wish I could take credit for this, but the guy who jumped his Forester and dinged his oil pan was one of Roo's buddies from SoCal. I've found other ways of bashing in my engine undertray, though...
