yes but turn 1 a t-hill is a 70-90 mph turn.. when they put a chicane 200 feet infront of the turn and you can only do 30 thru turn 1 its not much fun.

To be honest, auto-x is my choice of poison. Track days are fun and all, but auto-x allows you the opportunity to go all out. If you go off course at a track day, you'll get black flagged. It is kind of the opposite for auto-x. It is expected for you to lose control. You'll probably get in more trouble for not spinning out than if you do.

you get 3 black flags before you are kicked off.

the whole point is to not go off the track. (or out of the cones at autocross) the only reason going off was such a big deal at hypermeet was because of the wet ground. It makes it very dangerous.

Im not an autocross hater, but honestly if you look at the amount of seat time you get in an autocross event you are spending $10 a min, and the times are very affected by the HP and off the line performance of your car.

so did you go off when you spun Kevin, or did you stay on track?

i dont see autocross as seat time, i see it as paying $40 for timing your skill at the wheel (not at the gas pedal) the only place where a 2.5NA can beat a 2.5Turbo or V8 everything else is that much closer to a drag race aka wallet race

my seat time is in the mtns and on/offramps

Yeah... I got pretty close to the 3 black flags. More or less in the same area. One after turn 10. The other at turn 11.

11 is tricky. I'll have to work on that one next time I get around there. I think 10, I was letting bad habits get to me. I have a habit of lift-off oversteer/braking in mid-turn that I need to break.

Seat time is a huge bonus of track days. They each have their pro's and con's. I think one of the tricky things about THill is that there are a lot of elevation changes. I think you have to force yourself to not chicken out with them. Like turn 3, the bypass(5), and turn 9. Tricky elevation changes.

I don't think it was a true spin-out. I did stay on the track, but lost control and yeah. Like, I ended up 90 degrees to the edge of the track.

he did not go all the way around, just got it a bit too sideways and couldn't recover.

I swore the first one I did was almost a full 180. The car shut off after I lost control. Yeah. Oooo. 14 and 15 was tricky, too. I think I have a general idea on how to attack it though. I still think 3, 9, and 11 were the trickiest though.

Because they cost money!! I think the only photographers there was the gotbluemilk.com crew. I don't think anyone else was taking pictures. $60 for a cd full of pics of your car. Yeah... steep. I don't think there were many Subaru's either.

There was the Calculated Risk GranAm Legacy, the GST L, mine, Aaron's (International B), Henry (dunnojack), Patrick (pgochiel), and that other guy. Didn't catch his name. Yeah.

"that other guy was josh (4xrex)" ~
