I always forget to remove my V1, after reading this I will remember now. I hate thieves... I caught one trying to steel a light off the front of my truck once.

If you feel like driving to San Leandro for glass replacement, consider Kuttek Werks at 900 Doolittle Dr. Sam and his staff do good work. They replaced the windshield on my bugeye for $196 and filled two bullseye cracks on my truck's windshield for $25.

Auto insurance says its not bolted down and not covered, home owners says it was in the car so its not covered? WTF!

clarity: the V1 is in limbo.

the glass should be about 250... hopefully less. i've had windows broken on two cars (including my impreza) and that was the price neighborhood. shop around and you might be able to do less.

If you look at the "cheaper" glass at an angle you can see that its not as smooth. Pilkington is a good brand too. Those are the only two I would use besides OEM.

I've replaced a ton of windows and honestly, the windshield is the only one that I would worry about buying OEM.

Try these guys in San Jose, they have done a lot of work for me.
