Is my bov broken or my car???
I have a 02 wrx and I installed a turboxs type H bov on it a few months ago. It worked fine and then 2 days ago it just sopped working (no gradual problems, just stopped one day).
When I get off the throttle instead of making a "phsssss" sound it makes a purring sound. This happen's every single time. To get the car to make a "phssss" noise I have to have the throttle wide open and around 6000rpm when I let off the gas or shift. This will get that awsome "phssss" noise to sound, Unfortunatley when this does happen it sounds like it is leaking pressure for about 2 seconds.
What could this problem be???? , What should I do about it???
Thanks for the help:
Luke Foster.

Hey,
I had a similar problem with my turbo xs rfl. it would get stuck open and my car would actually stall. all i did was shoot it with some WD40 and that solved it.

With atmospheric BOV's it could be a couple of things. first, disasemble the BOV check for dirt or other debrie. Also, you may need to adjust the spring inside the bov using the metal washers supplied with the BOV, check the directions for a diagram on how to do this exactly or go to the TurboXS website.
When i had problems with mine, i needed to add a washer, and clean out the BOV. once clean I rubbed the interrior valve parts with synthetic oil. I have never had a problem since.
