Yes. ANY mod not specifically allowed or approved by CARB is illegal. The only exception is cat-back exhausts, b/c even the yahoos at CARB know it doesn't affect emissions.

dude, CARB must be the most poorly run government organization ever. can you imagine how many companies have probably been trying to get their products passed for legal use? it's probably been an issue ever since the organization has been set up. and however many years later, still, nothing. i hope they take my entire tax check and give it directly to CARB so i can pay their stupid asses to jack off in cubicles all day long.

its not the fact that CARB is stupid, all they care about is the money they can get from big industry in the state.

The feds let them raise the polition quotas for factorys and refinerys if they were able to reduce the emissions from vehicles, which they are doing. Now they are able to sell what is called a "polution credit" to these buisnesses in the state so that they can over pollute past their quotta. Of course they make a ton of money selling these for the state, so yeah, screw the autos so they can rape the industrys for a ton of money !

gotta love government agencys

IMO These ers are already getting a crapload of OUR hard earned tax dollars, simply so THEY can tell US how we are allowed to have our fun. They dont care that their laws are rediculous...and I am sure that they know alot of them are....but what can we do? not a whole lot....all they care about is buying themselves another BMW or Benzo. I would be willing to BET that most of those fockers over at CARB have their OWN cars modded up....atleast mildly. Yet, us honest taxpayers cant do what we want...especially when WE are the ones financing their whole operation.

Did you guys hear that davis (Yolo county) is lobbying to make smog equipment modifications a felony (In addition to that 10K fine for catless)?

But as I understand it even a bov is "tampering" since it vents gasses directly to the atmosphere.

LAME!
