Burning Oil Issue...

Im having an issue with my 05 STI. Recently i replaced my VF39 turbo that had a crack on the exaust side of the turbo. The car was burning oil because of the crack in the turbo so i replaced it with a vf22 which i thought would stop the oil burning/consumption. But im 3000 miles into my vf22 and im still loosing oil (roughly 1300 miles and im bone dry.). I noticed when i get on boost i can see a small amount of smoke comming from my exaust. Any one have any ideas of what could also be causing me to loose oil at a rapid rate? Before the turbo swap (1month before) we did a compression/leak down test on the motor and it came back all good so i know its not a crack in the block. Could it be head gasket or seal rings? Im also not experiencing any random leaks or drip spots so thats whats making it so confusing. Any ideas anyone? Id greatly appreciate it, its really driving me nuts.

Thanks,

Stephen

sure it's coming out of your exhaust???

It's possible you're loosing oil from the valve cover or the PCV valve area on the back of the block and it's dripping down on the downpipe and burning off. Common. I've got it. Not as bad as you though.

You sure there are now leak spots???? That's a lot of oil to BURN in that short of time frame.

I had the PCV Valve replaced just before we replaced the turbo, cuzz thats what we origianaly thought was causing the oil burn. Im not seeing any more oil in that section of the motor, ive been inspecting the pcv regularly. Any other ideas, someone had mentioned somthing about valve seal rings or something of that nature. Any other ideas? It still could be possible that the PCV has backed up again but like i said earlier im not seeing oil build up in the PCV area so im excluding it but i figure it would be crazy for it to be damaged again in such a short period of time.

Thanks for the input though OneMan, i appreciate it. Any other possibilities?
