1. pull out cup holder
2. remove 2 screws holding cup holder
3. completely pull out cup holder asssembly. careful, a tab under the assembly requires you gently pull UP.
4. radio and HVAC faceplate is attached to dash via 6 friction clips, 3 on each side. gently pull out entire faceplate.
5. 6 screws hold entire radio assembly. lowest 2 are kinda hidden under radio.
6. remove assorted wiring harness from stock deck.

just reverse. i can almost do it blindfolded... btw, this is a WRX, yes?

Take crowbar, pry in to edge between deck and dash pieces.
Twist until deck is out.

voila!

Don't forget to wrap the crowbar in a towel before you break the window! You don't need any of those pesky police officers interrupting your stereo mod.

Here is what you do:

1. Remove Ash tray
2. Pull from the bottom of the center trim up
3. Unplug the cigarette and ashtray plugs
4. Then you should be able to see the 4 screws that hold the two decks together

If you have more questions, PM me and I can answer more of your questions or if you go to UCKK, I can show you how to remove it on Tuesday evening.

Woah, you guys make it seems so hard. After Tommy and Zoeb explained it to me about thirty times, its easy now! :-D

Just pry the trim off... and voila, you have access to the 4 screws. No need to remove the cup holder, or vents or ashtray. Its a bit unnerving at first, but the trim really does pop right out.
