Question closed deck and open deck

what is the difference between the two, like the closed deck is better for FI (turbo) and open deck (in n/a form) is not good to use a turbo. thank you in advance.

Here is a good visual example of the two and short explanation.

More or less you are correct, but closed deck also has less area for coolant to flow over the combustion chambers. I like the semi-closed personally. More strength then open, but still plenty of area for cooling.

Thanks for the info guys it really makes now. I would like to know is, if lets say I build an all out n/a motor on the open deck. Can it support up to 300hp or is it possible?

Sorry one more thing how much hp can a open deck take, when using FI?

I don't think I've ever heard of a 300hp N/A build on a Subaru.

Its an interesting prospect, and I really don't have an answer for you. Out of curiousity, how were you planning to get 300hp out of a N/A build?

I like to do like subiesport is doing to thier car (zero to hero project). I know they hit a roadblock(I think they made 250hp which is still preety good), but I like what they doing because it opens the way for others to this route if they want to do it.Plus when every I have the money to do it.
