Anyone here good/know a lot about snowboarding?
...yet nobody dared to mention "Never Summer" boards. I'd take a this board over Burton & Santa Cruz anyday...paying wayyyy too much for the name, rather than performance. I'd admit, those 2 companies make solid boards...but nothing compares to "Never Summer" (made in Colorado, yey yeyyyyyyyyyy)
With the board, buy some Drake bindings and Northwave boots...you can't go wrong.

P.S. I have a 154 Nitro board if interested

Arbor, Winterstick, Nidecker, Chaos, Option, Morrow, Forum, K2...should I go on. Like I said Burton and Santa Cruz are just two of many good companies. You have to buy something that you can afford and something that you like the look of, and of course one that fits you for what ever style of ridding you want to do.
And just because a board is made in Colorado dosn't make it good. Maybe you care to share some of your "boarding wisdom" that makes you feel Never Sommer boards are good, other than the price...

Well I basically got stuck with what i bought. I bought it 4 years ago about in like late January, early February. It's a Ride all mountain board, the only wide 163 they had. Salomon boots and bindings cause those were the only ones in 13 that fit good. The Burton's I tried on where way too tight, I am closer to a size 14. But for my skill level at the time, which was only 2 trips up and some surfing backgroud, the board has done well. But after 3 seasons now with this board I am starting to see the weaknesses. Like not holding it's line on groomed runs. I can rip on a slightly icey surface to the point where I can make it from the top of 11 to the bottom on it, at KIRKWOOD, fast enough that I beat all my friends who have been riding longer. But lost to a friend on a groomed run from 7 to the bottom and he had a smaller board.
So after reading Lance's advice I will start looking into getting a stiffer board. Lance, I'll talk to you more on Wednesday at T-hill about this. You have more experience than me, so your advice will go a long way. See you there man.

I have all Burton stuff. I have a 1997 A-deck (145, I am 5'6"), 1998 Burton Freestyle conventional bindings, 1999 Burton Moto boots. Quality stuff. I'd recommend them.

I'm not saying I know everything, or that I'm a pro, but I have been ridding for awhile now and I would like to think I know what works and how to pick a board. I've given many friends advice on boards, both buying new ones and ridding skills on the hill. I have many friends in the industry and talk to them as much as people talk here on i-club. So I feel like I got knowledge

Oh yeah...and talking at the track sounds good mang!

damn i forgot your all old people and dont go to the park anyways hehe.. we should have an i-club jibfest! that would be fun
I had to give up on all out park ridding. My body has been baddly beaten in there and I figured if I wanted to keep ridding into my 60's then I better relax
So now I just stick to cornice and cliff drops, steeps, shoots, powder, and bomb'n!!!! I still hit the park, but just a bit. I acutally just started doing boxes and small rails the season before last. It's pretty fun but still I'm a little sketchey and not very confiedent on them.Maybe you can show me a thing or two if we have that jibfest!

Man I can't wait for the snow either. Half the reason why I bought a WRX was so that it would get me to the snow and back in one piece. All I need now are some snowboarding racks and probably a pair of mesh foglight covers and probably a differential protector just for that added security
