Well that is extremely irritating. It's insanely hard to justify the $677.26 dollars not including labor to replace this part rather than the under $100 dollar block off plates, and trying to sneak it pass visual.

That was about 6 or 7 years too late for me. When the dealer wouldn't fix it for me for free, I just installed aftermarket fuel rails and now no problemo. I couldn't believe it when they issued the recall... 9 years of raw fuel smell in the cold? Really? 9 years?
And that wasn't even an issue that took miles to develop. Don't expect any quick favors from SoA.

You'll be fine. I smoged mine 3 weeks ago for my registration and tags. Just keep the stock pump and bolt it in for visual. Just so they know its "their". I had no problems though, dude didnt say a word about it and passed it with flying colors

Crud I just got this CEL P1410 on my 06 WRX wagon (97k miles) today. Wierd that not only did the CEL come on, but the Cruise did too... not sure what's going on there.
So I cleared the code with the Cobb AP (I'm stage 1, no engine mods) and for the rest of my commute it didn't come back.
Does anyone know if Subaru is now warrantying this for emission yet?
Also, from what I've read as long as the car is good and warmed up, then it should pass the sniffer test in emissions even if the pump is removed (with proper block off plate). Also, has it ever been a problem with visual inspection? I mean a deleted pump would look like a 02-05 WRX.
