nokio, are you equating, in your response to Roo, shootig officers with an assualt rifle or semi-auto with there being "accountability" within the system?

Are you also equating complaining about a ref ticket with shooting cops?

The gunman, Lovelle Mixon, 27, was also killed. He was wanted on a no-bail warrant for violating his parole on a conviction of assault with deadly weapon.
Do you think his actions were in hopes of "accountability" for some BS actions you imply the police are guilty of? Or do you think this was a worthless individual that shouldn't have been on the streets to begin with? I'm going with option B.

I got pulled over for loud exhaust about 4 days ago in Oakland. You could check baffle thread for it. In no way, I hate cops for it. I may not liked them at the moment, but they were just doing their job. Nobody deserves not to go home after their work. Also, I do have respect toward officers, because even if you give me badge and gun - I could never do what they do everyday.

What disturbs me the most is, how in the world; one criminal can take down 4 officers? I hope OPD finds solution to what may have caused this four wrongful death. Is it really necessary to have motorcycle cops in Oakland? They have no cover when someone shoot at them. At least a cop car can provide some shield....just my thoughts. As for SWAT, I'm just speech-less. I wish they had a robot that brings a grenade into that room.

Accountability is what people were screaming for with the BART shootings is all I implied. How could I compare an accident (BART incident) to a criminal shooting officers over not wanting to go back to jail (this incident)? Why would you even connect the two? What does this have to do with the BART incident? This had nothing to do with that and I never implied so.

I was responding to Roo who had mentioned that particular thread, and I basically gave a reason as to why you saw so many people voice there opinions* (negative and positive) towards that particular situation in that particular thread.

As I wrote on the bottom of the post, no one should have died that day, accountability is not handled by killing one another.

In no way shape or form did I connect getting a ticket with shooting a police officer. This is some interesting logic you chose to use. Based on your logic and your response to my post, you are implying that I felt it was ok that these officers died because I got a ticket last week? Who do you take me for?

It would seem as though you completely misunderstood me my friend. I felt as though my post was written clearly, but it is evident that I may have not accomplished that.

My original post was an attempt to explain that those hate on cop threads are all petty and frivolous and that even though people may say **** pigs, cop, popo's, whatever. That I think we are all descent human beings who would never wish death for anyone and that we all understand we are all in this crazy thing called life together.

Sorry if I misunderstood you with this response.

One love

Damn that sucks, I had not heard anything about this until after I came home from Fresno County and my day of shooting out in a Federal Place. We had 2 Federal Rangers come out and chit chat with us, I was in a group of six at the time. Everything went smooth, just sad to know that while we were talking to 2 Fed's pecaefully some asswipe was out there killing cops

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Families of the fallen Officers, and also with the other officers in mourning of their fellow family members that were struck down.

Well yeah his body is alive on life support but he is brain dead. Two bullets to the head is tough to survive.

And Bruce I'd love to go to the range. Or maybe even a panoche hills run.

Let me know if you need another shooter to go with. I was just there yesterday. I'd like to get out there since there is only 3 weeks or so left before you can get in at the top of the hill. If not have fun guys, sorry you have to go through this crap Flatline

First of all Glad your safe Flatline.

i think we underestimate the jobs of police officers. Living in Pleasanton, i never even thought about the risk that these brave people put into their daily lives. my prayers go out to the families of those you lost their lives protecting our community.

Another reason to be thankful for being alive this moment.

I was thinking about this again regarding how to prevent/minimize this in the future. 1st get rid of motorcycles (no place to hide or take cover). Perhaps, each patrol car should be occupied by a driver and a partner. At each traffic stop/pull-over, the partner should have his AR15 ready. This way, they will be able to blast them each time.

I was just trying to understand the point of your post. The comment on ticket rant threads seemed a little out of place, and the tone of the post seemed to lean towards justifying the shooting. My bad if I misunderstood you.

Article said he was pulled over for a traffic stop. It also said no other suspects were being looked for, most likely meaning the car was empty, meaning his family was not in the car, meaning his family is talking out of their asses.

"Mixon's relatives said at the time he was stopped by the police motorcycles, he was apparently looking for a parking space. He had bought the car a week earlier from someone in San Francisco."

These 4 cops were killed doing their jobs and that’s just horrible. I think anyone who thinks they deserved this is a completely out of line. No one deserves to die this way and it is sad to think there are people who actually celebrating these deaths.

SICK

I feel for the families of these officers and the officers themselves whom lost their lives in the line of duty.

I could name names - but you can search for the New Year's Day thread on the kid who was shot by the BART officer if you need names.
Now considering I'm very vocal about the NYE incident does not mean I am one of these "cop haters", not to say you think I am or anyone who vocalizes against those cops. But it seems like you might be.

Sure there will be people out there twisting this into something else or taking the story into another direction. That happens with all these situations and it sucks.
