This is inaccurate. He is still fighting in the ICU as of this morning. Can't say much more than this due to HIPAA but he is still alive. Unfortunately, the newscasters are correct and "grave" is an accurate description of his condition.

Have they released what kind of firearm the douchbag used? Was it actually an assault rifle or was it some semi-auto rifle that looks like an assault rifle?
I'd imagine with the damage done that he was in fact using a select fire rifle (Fully automatic assault weapon as opposed to a semi-automatic rifle that shoots one bullet at a time which are commonly called assault weapons mistakenly)
Also, I wonder what the SWAT officers used to bring him down? MP5's? M4's? Shotguns? I doubt they would use pistols

I would assume the swat used M4's, but i guess it depends on which department. I did swat training with citrus heights swat team and we all used the M4 along with select times going to full auto when needed to practice different scenarios.
yeah i don't even know how you begin to say something like that even as a joke. people get paid to put their lives on the line for our protection and we're gonna spit in their face?
my brother is in law enforcement and i know he'd put his life on the line even for an unappreciative person like iLogin.

Think a couple things need to be cleared up here. Now with this website being for Subaru enthusiasts, it is not hard to believe that every now and then there will be some threads about "g0t pulled 0ver 4 mY eXhauSt y0!?!?" and "douche cop gave me a speeding ticket."
These threads are generally about a member ranting about how the world isn't fair because they got a ticket; and you know what, it's all good to rant and rave and ***** and moan, sometimes people need to do that. Guess what, when a thread like that comes up, people jump on that bandwagon because many on this forum can relate to getting a BS ticket every now and then.
You know a lot of people were angry in that thread because a person was shot while being restrained, simple as that, kinda ****ed up right? Accident or not, people just wanted to see some accountability is all. Let's not dive any further into that though.
Hate is a strong word, even if someone does say they "hate cops" usually that doesn't truly mean they hate cops. Most people here probably don't truly understand what real hatred is (I feel me included), hate is an ugly thing my friend. The people who "hate cops" do so for petty reasons, for reasons which in a month or two will likely fade into dust.
No one ever said,"hey **** you kYLEMtnCRUZr for driving so fast through those damn the hills." Because it's your life and no one can tell you otherwise right? So if someone wants to truly hate a person who is sworn to protect and serve the public (the hater included), then let them wallow in their hate and became an ugly person for it.
I have my moments where I get angry at officers for things that have happened to me, but I always tell myself, they're just doing their jobs like any one of us has to do. These officers did not deserve to die, and neither did the perp. no one should have died, but that's not what happened. I feel sad for those who would wish death on others.

Sorry if a bit OT
RIP those who died.

...or there would be all the cop-haters out twisting this story around to tell us how some poor, mis-understood criminal who had his rights violated by the big, bad, mean policeman finally fought back.
I could name names - but you can search for the New Year's Day thread on the kid who was shot by the BART officer if you need names.
