imHELLAslow, what is your driving style?

Before it broke, when you engaged the clutch did you ever feel the car jerk at all?
When you shift into gears, do you feel any resistance or crunching as the stick goes in?

****. i knew i shouldve just payed to have it towed to Carlsen! Stevens Creek called me yesterday and told me they were gonna begin the tear down. im willing to bet they're gonna say its not covered by warranty due to some stupid excuse. Anyone have any thoughts i can use to convice them to cover it? damn it...

chim, my driving style is kinda of spirited. usually shifting at 3-4 k but sometimes bringing it up to redline when i feel the need to. ive never encountered any grinding, jerking, resistance or anything like that ever.

Not to scare you, just to warn so you pay close attention when you get it back, but I wouldn't just be concerned with whether or not it will be covered. Now that it's gone to Stevens Creek I would be very very wary of the quality of any work done. I've read several complaints int he past where the work performed my SC was sub-par to say the least. Even IF they do chose to cover it for your, pay close attention to the quality of work when you pick it up and don't be affraid to complain. I once had warranty work done that only made my tranny worse. Search for Green Valley if you want to read what SOA allowed to happen to me.

hey guys just a quick update.
i called them about 5 mntues ago and talked to this lady named Cindy at SC Suby and she was really helpful. She informed me that tranny will be covered by the warranty but my car wouldnt be done till the end of next week and they're just waiting on some parts. Now i just need to worry about the quality of the work like Bassplayrr mentioned. thanx everyone for your help.

They can not void your warranty because your 19
take it to the dealer let them figure out whats wrong with it
DO NOT sign anything saying your going to pay for anything,
if they try to play games get the spoiled rich kid attitude tell them your dad is a lawyer and you will sue subaru and see what happens.

Cool man. I'm glad it's working out for you thus far. Like I said, my post wasn't made to make you worry. Hopefull (and probably), the work will be done in a satisfactory way, but it certainly doesn't hurt to be cautios. Good luck.

UPDATE:
Well after 2 weeks, i finally got the car back today. They said that 3rd, 4th and the main shaft were gone so they had to replace those. They said my clutch was worn out so they replaced it as a "goodwill replacement" since its a wear and tear item, so im glad they did that. Overall, its seems like it took forever to fix and im happy i got it back. We'll see how long this tranny holds up. Thanx again to everyone for the help and support.
